All auctions has ended.

This post is somewhat overdue, but it’s time to talk about the tragic events that have been unfolding in Japan recently. There’s perhaps no need to go into too much detail, we all know about the earthquake and subsequent tsunami that has caused immense devastation, and loss of life there, we all know they face a very tough time ahead, and can do with all the help they can get.
The games industry obviously has special ties with Japan. These people are our colleagues, friends, family, team mates, opponents, compadres, buddies… you’ve played their LittleBigPlanet levels, and they’ve played yours. That’s why people from within the games industry have come together to build the Play For Japan campaign.
Play For Japan aims to channel the passion and generosity of gamers into a relief effort, through events, donations, and auctions of rare and interesting gaming memorabilia. That’s where we will be joining in, with five auctions we hope will raise some much needed cash for those in need. All the money raised will be donated to the Red Cross Appeal.

Own a piece of LittleBigPlanet history!

Four of our five auctions are for framed original concept sketches, each with a signed copy of LittleBigPlanet 2…
We have framed four pieces of artwork by Francis, the chief creator of Sackboy. They show some ideas for the development of our beloved hessian chum, and if we may be so bold, each one is a piece of gaming history. In the words of Indiana Jones, they belong in a museum! There are four of these pieces of artwork, each one is different, and as they are the originals, they unique... Holy SH-, the Crown's bid was at $107.50 when I started this post, I checked as soon as I was gonna post and it was already at $275.00!
Sonofa...some seriously want a crown and're willing to pay some serious $ for it. OwO

Shee, its even getting more than any of the concept arts atm!
(They're at a little over $100 right now.)

Yup, I saw this tweeted and immediately asked myself "I wonder what a crown is considered to be worth" - still 6 days to go and I guess we will see how coveted that crown is. Also, I love this auction simply for this line: "naysayers be ****ed, this is for charity!"

As for the art pieces, I'd love one of them (the yellow for preference), but I get the feeling that there is no way I could justify the cost they will end at... Maybe I'll put in some early bids to get the price bumped up some

Hey, they're DONATING, not paying.

That seems like it should set some sort of record. Still $525.

Not bidding, just donating.
However I'll spread the word a bit.
P.s. does go to show that the crown is EPIC!

Japan are in serious need of donations, and their levels are some of the best anyways...

ME WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNT! i Love LBP, and japan, ( as the one above said, they make some amazing levels ) but, I'm flat broke. I would BID on them INSTANTLY if i had any cash whatsoever. MAN i wish i could buy that, IT"S FREAKIN EPIC MAN! why do i have to always be so moneyless. that artowk is amazing, and EXTREMELY VALUABLE, not to mention the fact that the game has ALL of those EPIC PEOPLES signatures. I REALLLY wish i could afford to buy any ONE of these. If i could, i would buy all of them. Anyway, this is awesome that MM is doing this, just hope they saved a few other things for the next disaster. 2011-03-29 01:15:00

It is very generous for anyone who is bidding. Japan gets something, and the bidder gets their share. But seriously, I would donate 1000 Dollars for nothing at all! (Maybe)2011-03-29 03:11:00

It's pretty funny how MM overlooked Ebay's terms and conditions that state that virtual items are not allowed for sale.

Still, I hope they find a way around this, given that this is for a humanitarian charity and there are lots of people in need of help.

Cant they send the crown code through post or something so it's not virtual because the person donating is paying for the piece of paper with the code on it 2011-03-29 19:53:00

They said they would have the issue resolved, so yes, they are probably doing something like this instead.

My god, were people really bidding over $500 for a crown? That's awesome for the cause, but wow, I had no idea they were that sought after.

To be honest, i'd rather have some of the concept art. I would bid, but it's gone waaaaayyy over what i'd put down. Great idea by Mm though!

I don't think they're bidding for the crown, I think they're bidding for Japan and the crown is just a plus.

This is an auction for a Regal edition of LittleBigPlanet 2, with crown!

This is a customised mega uber rare ?Mm Special edition? box art slip designed by us and signed by the whole team here at Media Molecule. There are only a small number of these custom covers in existence, as they were originally intended to be owned only by Media Molecule staff.

The auction also includes a Royal Sackboy Superstars Mini fig, complete with crown, and a code for the same crown for your own Sackboy!111oneone.

After seeing the final bid, they definitely deserve it.
