Emitting Enemies in My Level

Archive: 4 posts

I created a pretty detailed platform level. The thermometer is about 3/4 full without any enemies in the level. After I add all of the enemies I want, the level becomes over heated. Is it better to emit most enemies instead of having them already in place? Maybe emit them as I'm approaching but they're still off screen? Will this save space on my thermometer? I did notice that emitters cause the thermometer to be higher. I don't like the idea of deleting previous areas of my level in order to save space.2011-03-25 02:05:00

Hey Rambo. Simple answer is yes. Deffinatly.

Have your Enemies "spawn" off the players screen with a player sensor set to the desired radius. This will save on Thermo possibly even loading time (though dont quote me on the loading time )
Set the emitter/sensor to "spawn" once or more depending on howw you want the enemies to spawn. Good luck with ya level and msg me when ya publish i'll check it out.
Also on a side note check outmy thread in Tutorials itmay help ya a little with that nasty ol Thermometer

If the behaviors are a set pattern put movement sequences on the enemies that loop using game sequencer. Make sure the movements return back to where it started when it loops though :-)2011-03-25 07:51:00
