I had the game in create mode and walked away for a bit, putting the controller up high out of sight. When I came back, my 4-year old said he played with my profile and the screen of on the tv was black. The system was frozen, I rebooted, and the game is acting as if I never played. I said no to importing lbp1 stuff, and the game starts with no levels complete. My saved costumes are available, and my pins from communits plays came back 1-by-1, but beyond that, it looks like I never played and have to replay whole game and re-find every last prize. An man am I worried what I'll find on my moon when the game lets me finally go back there. What could my son have done. Keep in mind, he does know how to play game, switch costumes, pull up stickers to past, etc. Is there a nuke-the-profile option? Is this a hard drive lockup and failure? What about the import profile option - I'm afraid to do it and lose lates saves on my moon, plus I don't recall when or if I saved profile. Big question, if I get that "import LBP1 content' message to come back, will it bring back lbp2 progress as well?

I've had this on an alternate account. Mine locked up in create mode too. Went to a white screen and when I restarted i had the same thing you did. No clue why it did it but your not alone. I had to play through DaVinchi levels again (through the boss) to get access to my moon. All my levels were there and all my costumes were in tact but all my game progress was erased. Luckily I'd done a backup two days earlier so I copied the levels from the moon to the HDD, then reinstalled my profile from two days earlier. That's how I ended up fixing mine. Good Luck! EDIT: I doubt the "import LBP1" will bring back the info from 2.

I had a problem when the PS3 crashed. When it restarted all the usernames had been replaced with a * symbol at the start of them. This left everyone without the ability to earn trophies or to import their profile into LBP2. (I was lucky because I saw it happen to someone else and then changed my username back). I would check to see if this is what happened. I would also go into "game data" and see if the save file is there.

This seems to be a bug that a lot of people are encountering. All I can say is remember to back up your profile onto a flash disk, and do it reguarly Good luck finding all the prizes again, and I hope it doesn't happen again.

Man, I feel sorry for ya! My cousins crashed my profile three years ago, but fortunately I had just made a backup. How do they do it? Those kids..

This sorta happend to me yesterday. I booted LBP2 up, it said import LBP1 stuff? I was like huh...maybe a glitch...whatever. Now it says to reset screen size and I'm like "Huh..so what if it asks t- WAIT A GODDAM SECOND WHAT THE HELL!?" Then I see that that it had booted up my profile I backed up about a month or so ago. I, luckily, had being working on my level exclusivly for that period of time, and I had finished and backed it up the day before, so I just about got off the hook. However I still lost all my heated levels/pins/all my objects/probably some other stuff I don't know of yet which kinda sucks but hey, I got off lightly. I sure hope you backed up your levels friend, because it's not cool losing them. The thing is, my profile just...vanished? Not a trace of it..mind you my PS3 did ask me when I booted it up "A HDMI input has been detected, do you want to switch?" Which could mean anything I.E Malfunction. Ah well.

Ugh, same thing happened to me. D: Backed it up a month ago, and I lost all my projects back to a month. And now I've FINALLY earned all my pins back, and it won't let me get platinum! The ps3 recognized that I had it, but I'm not getting the pin; the reason that I wanted it in the first place. Hopefully you'll rebuild, like I have to! Good luck!

Can't fix it, but to prevent it from happening, back up your profile. Every time you do some big creation, back it up. To be extra safe, at the end of the day, copy your back up to a flash drive.
