I need to display a number based on how many active...

In my level I built a rig that whenever impact is made, the score increases by 100. I.E. first bounce is 100 second is 200 and so on. Also, the counter resets back to 100 when a condition is met. This means that you could get upto 600 then reset then the next time make it to 300 then reset. I did this using a selector connected to counters with a max of 1, with 10 of the total. All counters are connected to a score giver set to 100. All of this works correctly. My problem that I need help with is displaying the correct hologram to represent what the next bounce would be worth. Any help is appreciated. | 2011-03-23 16:15:00 Author: darth_sullivan Posts: 8 |
Is there any reason why you can't connect the selector to a holo you make so when its active for the score giver it is showing your holo of your next score? (custom made holos of course) or am I confusing what you are trying to achieve? Littlebig Peggles | 2011-03-23 16:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
make set-reset (counter on 1) and set it when first bounce is made and reset when reset conditions are met and plug this to hologram or whatever you want | 2011-03-23 16:47:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
Why not use a SELECTOR. You can set a maximum of 100 ports. If you hook up your IMPACT SENSOR to the Cycle tab on the SELECTOR every time you impact it advances to the next port on th selector. On the selector, leave the top port one unconnected so initially nothing registers. Make out of holographic material, the number display 100, 200,200... etc. Now, on port 2s output of the selector, connect ii up to the 1, the 0, and the 0 of the holo 100. Connect port 3 of the selector to the holo 2, 0, and 0, and so on. now Every time an impact is made it will cycle down through the Selectors ports dhowing the holo 100, then onto port 3 and display the holo 200, and so on. When you reach the last port (say 100 for example) as well as highlighting 1, 0, 0 and 0, connect up port 100s So you will create out of holographic masterial a 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9 and two zeros (if max score is 100) or 3 zeros (if max score is 1000) Rather than having to do a load of zeros, just make 2 or 3 and rewire each selector port to the same ones. PS- Its a good idea to wire port one on the scoreboard to display a holographoc 0, incase you want to reset the selector | 2011-03-24 01:24:00 Author: Sean88 Posts: 662 |

I want to show how much the bounce is worth based on how many are active. There is always 1 active, and a max of 10 for 1000 points total. My selector is only there to cycle to the next available counter. So impact happens, then it turns on the counter(which is perma until reset). My impact sensor is connected to the timer to cycle the counters, and 10 different AND gates which are connected with the counters. AND gates are then connected with the score giver. I can't connect the holos to the selector because it can be a different group each time its reset. First time it can be the top 3 then the next it could be the following 4. See my problem? I'm gonna see if I can make this work. The selector works, mostly. I can display score 100 -1000 and reset to 100 when the event occurs. My only struggle now is keeping the score at 1000 when it reaches that. Right now it cycles back to show 100 even though you are still getting 1000 points. | 2011-03-24 01:34:00 Author: darth_sullivan Posts: 8 |
so just trying to understand it- When it get to 1000, you want it to stay displaying 1000 and scoring 1000? | 2011-03-24 02:22:00 Author: Sean88 Posts: 662 |
Correct. 1000 is max display, which can be awarded several times before reset. | 2011-03-24 02:31:00 Author: darth_sullivan Posts: 8 |
Not by my ps3 to really see what your idea is mate, sorry. But if all works, except the desplay resetting to 100 instead of staying on 1000, its looping back around. Out of the 10th Selector output port firstly connect a counter set to max time 0.1. as a counter to stay on, and from that wire the holo 1000. because it'll of the counter and register as 'on' it will just display the 1000 rather than loop back around to display the 100. That should work | 2011-03-24 02:33:00 Author: Sean88 Posts: 662 |
