Your most proud moment..
Archive: 21 posts
Hey, As you all know, the community for LBP is growing every day at an amazing rate, but you gotta think how many great creators there out there, and how many players are constantly achieving things to be proud of. I ask one simple question, what is your proudest moment of LBP or LBP2? Would it be a level you created? Would it be a certain target you reached? Did you achieve something that most others can't? Let us know, share some moments. Hey, even upload pictures. Let us know your proudest moment. | 2011-03-23 12:26:00 Author: Unknown User |

This private message which I recieved a few weeks ago... Hey Ungreth I'm new to Lbpc and have only just signed up. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for inspiring me to create, for inspiring me to use my imagination. Your levels show what true hard work can become and one day I hope to aspire to where you have got to. You truly are one of a kind (: ...because, in my opinion, there's no greater achievement than inspiring others to create | 2011-03-23 16:58:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

Finishing this. v http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWm5D9x2yq4 Although I'm also very proud of StrikeWing, which I made with aer0blue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPYA4Tx7z9U | 2011-03-24 00:31:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
Gil, have I told you lately how awesome you are? | 2011-03-24 00:41:00 Author: Thegide Posts: 1465 |
Although I'm also very proud of StrikeWing, which I made with aer0blue Which I've been waiting patiently for you to update to LBP2 mechanics..... My proudest moment was the release of Splat Invaders Saga. I know nobody else noticed... but it was on the "busiest" thread list on LBPC for several months, got a TOTALLY unexpected Spotlight on LBPC, and quite a bit of praise around the internet. I've never topped that feeling. | 2011-03-24 00:42:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
When I realized that I once again had been sitting in create mode for 12 hours straight.. Oh wait.. was it my MOST proud moment? I thought you asked for my least. *cough* | 2011-03-24 01:15:00 Author: Discosmurf Posts: 210 |
When Spoooky Pinball got spotlighted. I had just joined the site a couple of weeks prior, and I was still learning the ropes. (it was my first forum experience). The spotlight came out, and I just couldn't believe my level made it in. It was definitely my proudest moment. That was 2 years ago. Now when I look at that level, I can't believe how far I've come as a creator. That level was sloppy by my present standards. I'm still proud of it though, because I had no idea what I was doing back then. | 2011-03-24 01:31:00 Author: smasher Posts: 641 |
When someone wrote this out with stickers in my level: http://i2.lbp.me/img/ft/1b2eb4612e73463c6c662811b4db723ca7dd0a5a.jpg I thought it was really cool, for him/her to take the time out and stick the stickers down (and endure the LBP1 popit scrolling) and publish the photo. People uploading (decent) photos on my levels is a highlight in LBP for me. | 2011-03-24 04:17:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
Wow, once I publish one of my levels on LBP2 and see the outcome, let's see how proud I'll be... | 2011-03-24 04:22:00 Author: Spark151 Posts: 801 |
This may sound really corny, but I'm most proud of how far I've come in the last few months in terms of creating abilities. I started LBP2 with absolutely NO knowledge of how logic worked, and having never used computers for anything other than disc-games, school, and the internet, my experience on the matter was nil. First day I got LBP2 I spent playing all the tutorials with my friend. Didn't even look at the story, and went straight to Create. If you've seen my logic from those first create sessions.....yeah, it was both ridiculous and awful. It hardly worked, and was beyond any realm of understanding how overly complex it was. You see, we both has aspirations to create something incredible within the first week of the game's release. Didn't happen unfortunately. Since then, I've managed to reduce an over 500 logic component system to just under 20. I've gone from not understanding anything about logic (like how an OR gate works.................), to creating some of the most complex logic creations I've seen so far. My artistic abilities are still royally awful, but going from asking questions about how to do nearly everything, to creating logic for people and writing up my own tutorials, it's something I'm proud of. That and acing my IB physics mid-term (too bad it was due to some lucky guesses). | 2011-03-24 08:32:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
That my levels, while not being noticed much, work well and (for me at least), are fun to play. The fact that it takes me quite a while to make one level means once it's finished I really do feel proud. My most proud is probably Explosive Adventures, that took quite a while. | 2011-03-24 09:23:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
Probably my moment was right after I released Shadow Moses, in early 2009. NinjaMicWZ and I had built this awesome Metal Gear mech boss to bring the MGS platformer to the top of the picks. It was the first time I had landed a level on the front of Cool Pages. That same week I released Asteroid Pinball, which shot to the front page as well, and I had them both up there at the same time. It was really nice to get some recognition for the hard work I had put in... I even spotted a screenshot from shadow moses in the LBPC banner a few weeks later. That was pretty cool. | 2011-03-24 15:39:00 Author: Thegide Posts: 1465 |
I was absolutely thrilled when i made my first epic song on LBP2. Also, a friend called me to his level because he couldnt get a peice of logic to work. I fixed it really fast and i was freaking out in his level. It was intense. | 2011-03-24 16:02:00 Author: QuAcKeRz12 Posts: 176 |
My most proud moment was when my level Castle Platforming got 80 something hearts and 250 something plays over 4 months! | 2011-03-25 03:50:00 Author: TehKing21 Posts: 26 |
After continually getting under 200 plays on nearly all my levels for awhile, within seven months I published a half-built level called The Monster's Mansion, after disappearing for about 2 days I came back and discovered it had over 4,000 plays due to the republishing trick I used with it (of which no longer works I believe). I've gotten a lot more plays with other levels (over 20,000 on a level, deleted it off the server though), but The Monster's Mansion was the best achievement, it's a level I put good work into, and it still has a bit of fun in it to this day. Published the level back in Summer 2009, that's old. The more recent level I've published, which is a lot better in terms of visuals and gameplay...has under 700 plays... :tophat: I see flaws in all these levels now, and now that I can see them, I can build one that hopefully has no weak spots. As for those of you that have under 200 plays or less, which is still a re-occurring problem for me...the primary way to get plays is to build for the general public, the level should be simple, have no harsh learning curves, easy to look at and have visual guidance that nudges the player to know where to go, putting "wow" moments into your level that aren't frustrating for the player helps too as it can break up simple and long platforming/gameplay that is tedious for the common player. I like to break these rules all the time, I don't want to morph my creation to be "easy to look at" or have gameplay so simple any Cool Page gadder could complete it, I find that when I bend my level to follow these rules, I can't stand what I've built, I'd rather build it my way than let it sit and gather as many plays as the Cool Pages can offer. Say you're an author, and adventure books are the most popular. Do you want to write about adventure? Maybe, maybe some authors, but you write what you're inspired to, not what the public wants, you'll be twisting your written stories more and more to suit the people, not yourself, and you may even come to dislike what you've built. | 2011-03-25 04:19:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
Well excepting standard plays and rates existent i think then i making my first huge game play logic and it actually work as i wanted to work in my mind | 2011-03-25 05:34:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
I kinda hate everything I make within, like, 5 minutes of making it so I'm not proud of anything really. I'm like that with everything. I'm more proud and impressed what my friends do lol | 2011-03-25 05:49:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
Publishing my level, Going to sleep.. Checking it in the morning and it had 2000+ plays and was on the cool wall. I'd only ever had 100 plays max on my levels.. Was very suprised. | 2011-03-25 13:29:00 Author: Unknown User |
Awesome guys, you all obviously are very proud of what you have achieved which is a good thing, keep em' coming! | 2011-03-28 10:50:00 Author: Unknown User |
