LBPC Mafia - Round IX (Game Over)

| NOTE: This game is now over, see post #183 for details. Hello and welcome to another round of LBPC Mafia, the game where you at home vote to decide who's next on the Grim Reaper's list. For newcomers, I suggest you read the rules which I stole borrowed from previous rounds: Rules To play, you need to sign up. To sign up, just comment here saying you want to play. After I get a decent amount of players, I will PM every one of you your special roles. You are NOT allowed to tell anyone your role . It's a secret between you and me. After I assign everyone their roles, I will then announce the start of the game. There are two factions; the Mafia and Civilians. The game proceeds in turns. Each night, while the civilians sleep, the dreaded mafia privately decides on which civilian to assassinate. They will do this through PM's. When they decide, they will PM me. Each day, the terrified mob of civilians accuse people of being in the mafia and execute someone. Everyone- including the mafia, will have to vote on who to execute each day. The person with the most votes, dies. Civilians may NOT PM each other or anyone in the game. All discussion about the game should remain in this thread only. If the civilians manage to kill off all of the mafia members, they win the game. But, if the mafia outnumbers the civilians, they lose and the mafia wins. The game is largely about denouncing people as mafia members, and eloquently proclaiming your innocence. There's no real way to know who's in the mafia and who isn't. "Look at those shifty eyes! She's obviously in the mafia!" and "I've never trusted that guy," are both perfectly valid reasons to accuse someone. The sheer injustice of it all is part of the fun. ROLES Mafia Faction Mafioso- Is a member of the mafia. Every night, all the members of the Mafia will come together and PM each other to decide which Civilian to kill. Civilian Faction Sheriff- Has the ability to detect the role of any player. Every night, the Sheriff will PM me about a particular player's role and I will tell them. However, since no one can reveal their roles, the Sheriff will have to convince everyone else of what they know through trust. Cop- Same as the Sheriff, but instead of knowing particular roles, they will only have the ability to know whether a player is a mafioso or a civilian. Serial Killer- A very powerful role. The Serial Killer may kill anyone during the night, but can only do this twice in the whole game. But, he/she can't kill two people in one night. Doctor- Can protect one player from any night attacks. They will PM me each night of the player of their choice. Extra Roles- There are some roles I will not put on this list. You'll have to find out during game play  .Civilians- All remaining players will be regular civilians with no additional abilities. They will vote each day, but that's about it. I want at least 24 or so players. 1/4 of them will be the mafia, and the rest will be civilians. TURNS The game is supposed to start at night, but I want all platers to at least have one chance to play, so we'll start during the day. (Keep in mind, Day and Night have nothing to do with day and night in real life. It's just the name of a turn.) During the day, all players will vote on who to kill; even the mafia members. After all the votes come in, I will provide a short narrative of the death (I suck at story telling XD), and then night starts. During the night, no one is permitted to post about anything game-related. All game-related discussion should take place during the day. After I receive all of the PM's from the Mafia and the special civilian roles, I will provide another short narrative of what took place at night, and then the day starts once again. As I said earlier, this keeps going until all of the Mafia are dead, or when the Mafia outnumber the Civilians. Reminders- Please do not reveal your role to anyone else, or discuss the game anywhere else. I want to avoid cheating. The Mafia may PM other Mafia members whenever they wish, but Civilians cannot. Also, remember: No game-related posts during a night time turn. You're still allowed to talk to each other, but it cannot be about the game itself. So, as usual, post here in this thread if you want to play, which you do. | Yeah, I know this is from the other round, but I;m going to have it locked soon, and I can't help but to reply to Rock's post. Technically speaking, there was no way you could have won last day since I knew from last night you were last remaining mafia and plus I had already helped bring down booxely and joruto so there was an element of trust on the part of robotiod. But still can't believe we still won XD Even if it's just me and a deranged maniac :/ Remember, Joruto was alive two Nights ago. In fact, had he used it before booXely had died, you guys would and should have lost. But again, the one thing that annoyed me was Joruto's lack of teamwork. All he did was get on, ignore his team, send me his own personal target, and stay inactive. Oh, and on that note, I have to confess something: the game was kind-of rigged. Roles were half random and half chosen by me. All Mafioso roles were chosen by me, while the other special roles were given and random. Why? Because, I noticed that on the other Mafia rounds, all the veteran players died first. So to break this bad habit, I decided to enroll the almost-unrecognizable-players as the Mafiosos, just to see if my accusation was true. Sure enough, it was, WoodburyRaider confirming my theory almost instantly. He was new to the game, so automatically he received very little attention, once-in-a-while posted, and yet survived all the way to the end. Had he been Don, his team would have more than likely won. So, why did I do that? To show you guys why you shouldn't ignore new players. Sure, deny that you didn't vote the new or hardly recognized players because of suspicions on the veteran players, but after looking at past rounds and the posts in the game, I know that you guys just vote veteran players. Why? I don't know. My guess is that you guys just think because they know how to play, you form some paranoia around them. But that's my guess. Okay, that sounded a bit ego-ish, so I'll go into detail: During one of the rounds (forgot which one), I was a Mafioso. After one of my Mafioso friends died (or did no Mafioso die at the time?), I was getting accused by a LOT of people. So, to shake off the people, I pulled the sliest and most brutal trick anyone has seen in the game of Mafia: I murdered my own partner. Well, technically all I did was pose as a Sheriff and told everybody to vote for him, claiming that he was Mafioso (which he was), and if he wasn't I'd volunteer to die the next Day. So yeah, people thought I was in clean and I eventually lied my way towards a Mafia win (somehow I feel like I'm forgetting someone). Yeah. That not only gave me a win and some rep, but that also marked me down as the cruelest and most cunning Mafioso ever, thus forever burdening me with the rep every time I play a Mafia round. | Oh lawd, didn't see this started. Well, I don't know if Doopz is going to do the same thing CS did and assign unknown players to be the mafia, but I have a few suspicions. Blackknight was probably the most influential Civilian in the last game, spending most of the game convincing everybody I was a Mafioso. My thought is to turn the tables Doopz (being Doopz) made Blackknight a Mafioso to see how it would turn out. Second idea; AA_Battery voted for Blacknight without any suspicions/reasoning whatsoever, and it's only the first day. Either A) He's just weird like that, or B) He's the Witness, and knows for sure that Blacknight's a Mafioso. | Okay so I was the first to point a finger at Cyber Soa but now I'm second thoughts. Woodbury raider posted twice in this thread. First one he ony said Uh-oh. Second one made a joke. Why would anyone vote someone out for doing that? He didn't give an opinion, That would damaging. So I looked back at his previous posts back through the last round. Here's what I found: For the first page of post was dominated with mafia. Nearly every single post gave an opinion. Times change but people don't. So yeah, I change to woodbury. ): . Although this also looks suspicious. In the course of the time I changed my vote. What diffence could have been made? Obviusly my role made me change my vote so.... | Okay so I was the first to point a finger at Cyber Soa but now I'm second thoughts. Woodbury raider posted twice in this thread. First one he ony said Uh-oh. Second one made a joke. Why would anyone vote someone out for doing that? He didn't give an opinion, That would damaging. So I looked back at his previous posts back through the last round. I'm going to tell you, your guesses on who are mafia are just that guesses. You say I am mafia and Joruto is mafia. You also claim woodbury is mafia. Now I don't know about Joruto and Woodbury and presuming that doopz made the picks totally random it very well may be those people as mafia. I know however my role and that makes you more suspicious to me. It sounds like a mafioso tactic to vote the person who is suspecting you of being mafia. and that is true. But I obviously have no other leads. I don't know who the mafia is and I am doing everything in my power to find out. When I do find out I make my words known but for now all I can do is protect my role in the game. Junkyard I don't know what I would be like as mafia because I have never had that role while playing this game, I hope that this is the case for the foreseeable future. See this is what I've been trying to say all along: Your guesses have been just that, guesses. Anyone can make a guess at who he or she thinks is mafia and say they know it to be true one way or another. You're just picking and choosing and like I said before, I DON'T necessarily want to vote for you (well I can't change it now) but you gave me no other option. If you do turn out to be a civilian (which I believe is 50 - 50 chance), then it doesn't prove any of what you've said to be true which I don't think you understand yet. If one of the other two, or me, turn out to be mafia, it also doesn't imply that the rest are since it is just your suspicions which you seem to be trying to convince us are truth. And when you said, "Dude, Don't play games" - well this IS a game - like I believe you said a couple posts ago and it's all about trust. Since you guys probably won't believe me, and believe me it's your loss, all I can say is this: I was not the only one who Junkyard thought was mafia, there were two others he suspected (Joruto and Robotiod). I pointed out that everything he said was just guesses, and that's still true. The only thing different now is that we know he knew one of the three of us was mafia and I'd still like to hear what Robo and Joruto have to say for themselves. In my opinion, Joruto is more suspicious than me since he's been the most inactive of the three people Junkyard mentioned. I has sad. robotiod - Clown (I'm terrible at coming up with names for roles) I really couldn't think of a good name for this, so I just called it a clown because it was supposed to just be funny for me seeing people's erections to it. Every morning I would PM robotiod with a special task which he must do in order to either kill a player OR see their role. Unfortunately I wasn't very good with coming up with good tasks either and not many people seemed to take notice of any odd behaviour, either that or robotiod did really well, which is unlikely. His tasks were to... Get someone to say they love him; Use the winky smiley at least 3 times in every post and; Write every post backwards. (Successful tasks are in green; failed in red. Well that's that, congratulations to KernelM, WoodburyRaider and RockSauron.
