Sackbots Following Too Closely

I'm creating a Megaman styled level, with enemy sackbots that shoot projectiles. I would like these enemy sackbots to follow me, but not smother me. When I turn on the follow option on the sackbot brain, he follows me but is like right on top of me. I want the sackbot to stop once he got to a certain closeness to me. There is no minimum detection range on the sackbot brain. So, is there a way to accomplish making the sackbot stop once he gets so close to me?2011-03-21 23:31:00

on his circuit board place another behavioral action along with a player sensor. detection range to whatever you want. then when the said sackbot comes within that range of the player it will activate the other behavior....stand idle or whatever you want it to be.

try it and tell me if you need more help

Fairly certain in the Mm tutorials there's something about setting a minimum detection range.2011-03-21 23:45:00

Have an inverted Player sensor leading into a Follow Brain-Chip
...which also leads into a NOT gate, which leads into a Flee Brain-Chip.

You could also use another follow brain but with the maximum movement speed much reduced - that way they'll slow down when they get too close rather than dithering on the edge of the detection range. In theory anyway.
