Moon Lander 3

Archive: 22 posts

This is my latest Moon Lander level. It's similar to Moon Lander 2 except this is more polished with new features and difficulty settings. Whilst searching up LBP.me for my level link I noticed a few levels that were using my Lander that I gave away on Moon Lander 2. (Maybe I shouldn't have given it away? hmmm.) Anyway, if you decide to try out my level I wish you good luck, you may need it especially on Extreme difficulty. Oh and if you come across any bugs or glitches please tell me in a comment, not a review as new reviews are always buried at the bottom so I never see them unless I decide to sift through all the old reviews.

I'm currently working on another Moon Lander but this will be my last, however I'm making it so that in the future I can easily add new levels and features without having to redo or adjust alot of the logic. I'm not going to say when this should be finished as I want to make it as best as I can with more variety than the previous Moon Landers so it's going to take more time to create.

I will leave feedback on requested levels as soon as I can, most likely every couple of days. And please be honest with your feedback to me. How am I meant to learn/change if you dont tell me something is bad or could be better?

Thanks.

Really great game, so im going to have to get nit-picky in my review, you can put a material a couple layers in front of the entrance in the beginning so that you don't see it (not a big deal at all). also i agree that in hard and extreme the pink gems should be worth more. Lastly, extra points should be awarded if no lives are lost. ( you may have already done this, its not like i'd know)2011-03-21 03:20:00

I have just played this on easy and hard (single player), although couldn't quite get to the end on hard.
I couldn't find any bugs in the level anywhere, everything seems to work perfectly from my experience.

I would suggest that some of the pink bubbles worth 250 points are very difficult to get to later on and should perhaps be worth more considering the amount of risk required to get them. But hey, that's it, thanks for sharing such a fantastic level! I really enjoyed it.

This F4F thing. Probably a stupid question but do I only need to leave feeback for levels that people want me to look at? Oh... scratch that, I guess I leave feedback on the levels linked below peoples' posts. (Can't remember what it's called) Will post up some feedback tomorrow night.

I'm glad you enjoyed my level.

It's not compulsory to play and leave FB on other people's levels, but it's strongly advised
After all, there is a reason why there are two separate ways to post on the Showcase board.

BTW. I really loved your first Moonlander level. Might as well que up your second one as well then..

In my case, you can take a look at this: Secrets of Science - Chapter 1: No time to lose! (http://lbp.me/v/xq9-2f)

Yeah. I was going to leave feedback but didn't know whether people would tell me what levels they wanted feedback on or I just play one of their levels and leave feedback. But I get it now, so it was a stupid question.

"Might as well que up your second one as well then.." I have released 3 Moon Landers. One was Mm Picked, possibly the one you played. But hope you like it.

Really great game, so im going to have to get nit-picky in my review, you can put a material a couple layers in front of the entrance in the beginning so that you don't see it.

I will do this next time i'm on LBP2. Surprised I never thought of doing this in the first place? Never really tok much notice of it to be honest, but it's a simple fix.

i agree that in hard and extreme the pink gems should be worth more. Lastly, extra points should be awarded if no lives are lost. ( you may have already done this, its not like i'd know)

Theres not much I can do about this, well there is but it will be much too time consuming. Basically because each level is emitted I have to edit each level individually then save them in the pop-it, delete the old version and then place them back into the emitters and line them correctly. Considering theres 20 levels, thats alot of hassle for something quite minor, but I will definatley try and add it into my final Moon Lander.

The good thing about my next Moon Lander is that all the objects I will be using, except the actual levels, will be placed to one side and then I can dynamically save them into the emitters. So that I can modify each object and the modifications will be automatically updated on every level making it ALOT easier for me when it comes to modifying/adding logic etc. Instead of having to adjust each level individually.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Thanks alot for the play and like

Oh well, all levels deserve more plays but nevertheless I really appreciate that those who play my levels like them regardless if it's 100 or 10.000 people.

Alex Evans put it very cleverly: Imagine 100 people lined up on your porch to see something you made.
(I believe he said "play your level" but it works for all kinds of metaphores)

Again, thanks for the FB and here's a little bump

hey good stuff!, being the pro that i am i played Xtreme version and i loved it! although its only 3 levels its fairly challenging. Its very polished and i didn't encounter any bugs at all. I will deffo be back to try top the scoreboard on here! can i ask, in moonlander 2 the timer actually didn't change the amount of points received at the end of the level has this changed for moonlander 3 because i always thought thats how the scoring system should work, the faster you are the more points?2011-03-26 16:57:00

Hello again. Sorry for not leaving any feedback recently. Been playing Homefront and Crysis 2, which is awesome by the way.

Yeah, in Moon Lander 2 I forgot to add the bonus points for finishing the levels quickly. But this is present in Moon Lander 3.

I will leave feedback on peoples' levels next time i'm on LBP2. Really into Crysis 2 at the moment, ALOT better than I expected.

Hello again everyone. Have finally finished Crysis 2 so I should be on LBP more now. After reading some of the reviews/feedback I got from the people who played this (not just people from LBPC). It has motivated me to create my final Moon Lander which will be the best.

One of the new features I'm looking to add is "User Created Levels" where you can create a level (no logic required) send it to me then I will add it into the game, displaying your name at the bottom of your level/s. I'm going to make a sort of dev kit where you get a working ship (to test the level you make) and a template of how big your level must be with instructions. So if you would like to make a level for ML4 (Name could change) then leave a comment either on here or on my profile page on LBP2. I will send you the template as soon as it's finished.

Anyway back to Moon Lander 3. From the looks of things, there aren't any bugs/glitches, which is good, so there probably wont be any more updates for it as I want to concentrate on the next Moon Lander.

As for feedback on your levels. You should all have feedback by the end of the week, at least on LBP2 anyway.

Thanks for your support and don't forget if you want to make a level for the next Moon Lander just leave a comment either in this thread or on my LBP2 Profile page.

Hm. I left an in-game review on your level, but I'm experiencing some severe network lag at the moment, so I don't know if it stuck..

Anyhooooo, Brilliant! Tight controls, clean presentation and challenging enough to make you want to break your controller.
Really brings me back to the days of joystick waggling in fron to of the C64 and the almighty AMIGA 500!

I played it some days ago and i can honestly say you pretty much made the game nearly perfect: two players support with different paths, multiple difficulty levels, huge replayability. I honestly haven't found anything that i didn't like, the level is fine as it is. The user levels plan for the next one is rather neat.

Try my http://lbp.me/v/yw22sw level if you can and leave some feedback

Hey I just played your level on Hard, and after that on easy to get an comparison. (and Itried extreme, but i failed )
What's good, is that you supported multilayer, with different paths and point bubbles,
and that you get more points on higher difficulty.

What can be improved is, that the pink point bubbles should be worth way more points.
Espeacially those, that were really hard to get.

Sadly, i cant tell you much about, what you did wrong, because there really isn't much x3
This is an good level, i have to say :3

Hi everyone. Really sorry about disappearing for what, nearly a year. Got pretty busy and wanted to concentrate on creating but even then I didn't have enough time or motivation at times. I'm still not sure when I will be back on LBP as I just haven't had the motivation to play any games lately.

Moon Lander 4 is still in it's very early stages but the Title Screen, Main Menu and part of the 1st level are completed, mostly. One of the new ship abilities is coming along nicely with the 2nd still only in my head. Levels will be more detailed now with a sort of story linking them together so it's not just random levels.

Ive been practicing and coming up with more complex logic which will help me in creating the best Moon Lander yet, if I can motivate myself to carry on. I really want to finish it but work is taking up most of my time and when I'm not working I'm too tired to want to play games.

I'll try and motivate myself to continue sometime this week, even if it's just to release a demo/beta of Moon Lander 4 so you guys can try out the new abilities.

Anyway, I've just realised what the time is (3.50am) and should probably get some sleep now. Again I'm really sorry for disappearing and I'll try give you some feedback for your latest levels next time I'm online.

Thank you for your feedback and support. Hope you all get the plays/reviews you are hoping for.
