Project Suma: FINALLY UP!!( And Recruiting!)

Sackboys and Sackgirls, EliminatorZigma and I now present to you, Project Suma Story You are Quinn, a teenage boy who wakes up in a strange home with no recollection of who he is how he arrived. Quinn soon finds out that he is in the house of Amy Fault and her grandfather who found you alive and took care of you. Amy also tells you that him that he is in Arma, a small semi-steampunk village. She volunteers to take him to meet the village elder, but as luck would have it, mechs, who were previously not a problem, begin to attack all the major cities and villages in the land. Feeling indebted to help the people who saved his life, Quinn volunteers to help his new friend, Amy, warn the village elders of Arma’s alliances who might know how to deal with the dilemma. But as events unfold, Quinn finds that there may be more to the attacks than the elders are letting on. Overview Suma is a world where ancient magic and technology meet. Its worlds are based in nature, but there are cities and villages which use ancient like technology, semi-steampunk technology to be exact (meaning that most that while the technology is steampunk, natural influences and nature is still clearly visible). Many of the enemies will be cyborgs and mechs, what Zigma likes to call, an interesting contrast to the natural environment Although the people live in these semi-steampunk towns and cities, they don’t dress in steampunk clothes, but instead, more fantasy like clothes that resemble modern day wear. Like the Hansel and Gretelbot game, we will be using a pre-defined character who can talk and act in cut scenes. The player will play the actual game as their sackperson while watching their character act in cut scenes as a sackbot who copies the costume of player one. While the game will be mostly platformer and movie levels, there will be many other types of gameplay incorporated, such as top down levels, side scrolling levels, mini games, first person rail shooters, possibly rts, possibly 3D flying fps, ect. The player (Quinn) must journey through four distinct villages and cities alerting the elders of the danger and befriending prodigal teens and groups who can help you put down the attacks. Along the way, you’ll find the true reason behind the attacks and possibly discover your past as well as your destiny ultimately leading up to the Final Battle. Multiplayer will also be allowed in order to increase the team building experience. Goal of “Project Suma” The story of this game is just one part of a large saga like story EliminatorZigma and I have been working on for a little over a month and still working on to this very day. It started as just a small story but pretty soon, got very big. After completing a major part of the story and reaching a stopping point, we decided to put that portion into a game of its own. We want this project to give the community another example of successful creative teamwork. We also want to create a game based largely on a flowing story, cut scenes, and a large balance of various types of game play. Overall, we want the community to enjoy the work and time that we and everyone who decides to work on this project put in, to create a game that could possibly see more work in the future, and to possibly create a game never before seen in Little Big Planet. Other names are permanent Quinn: That’s you. Quinn is a teenage stranger in this world. Smart, adventurous, kind, funny, and heroic, he does his best to help his new friends stop the threat that is among them, to discover his past, and save the future. Amy Fault: A teenage girl who is Quinn’s best friend and love interest in the story. She lives in Arma with her Grandfather. Amy’s what we would classify as sort of a tomboy. She loves adventure and isn’t afraid to show the world that she can hang with the big boys. Amy is a volunteer member of the Arma Militia. She, along with her grandfather, are Arma’s top mechanics. Aldren Econis: the leader of Arma and best friends with Amy’s Grandfather. He’s very humble and wise, but can become very hot tempered and outspoken when matters fall to something he really believes in. He becomes your mentor throughout the story. (Gunthur Hilderic): A teenage boy who lives in New Machina. Coming from a poor family, his experiences have turned him into a tough kid who never backs down from a challenge. He’s a fighter, who looks down at weakness and admires the strength and wisdom of Uso Fernardo, the city’s leader. He’s also a weapon’s specialist. (Benito Rinarrin): The elder of New Machina. He’s very headstrong causing him to be stubborn and believe that he is usually right. Because of this, the other elders call him, ‘The Bull”. However, this is not just because of his stubbornness but also because of his masculine mentality. He looks down on weakness and believes that his city and his people must remain safe at all cost. He stongly believes that the best defense is a strong offense. Because of this, The Enforcers, as his city’s military have been called, have become one of the strongest and most effective military’s in the land. (Connor Stewart): He’s the youngest of your friends who you shall meet in Volati. Twelve years old to be in fact. Connor’s a kid genius. He knows just about everything about science, math, and how stuff works. Because of his vast knowledge, he’s often looked down on by the older kids. But Connor doesn’t mind. It’s hard to put him in a bad mood. He can also be very eccentric and hyper when excited, but overall, he’s a good kid. (Tahd Cassidy): The elder of Volati. While he has expertise in architecture and technology, he’s also known as the class clown of the alliance. He’s very clever and tricky and likes to test visitors with wit, and riddles, among other mind games. But don’t let that fool you. He helped Volati become the great industrial city it is today. And while the citizens sometimes tire of his trickiness, the all have to admit that his goodwill playful attitude has given them formidable allies. (Marion Aquamore): A teenage girl who lives in Undus. Marion’s comes from a well educated family, and has become the youngest ecologist and marine biologist in the city. She stands in for what she believes in, and sometimes can fall away from reality since she has never really left the city. (Akai Oasanu): The elder of Undus. Feeling a great connection to nature, he decided to build Undus as an underwater steampunk Utopia. He is peaceful by nature and not one to usally put up a fight unless necessary. He is often called the wisest of the elders. Becoming Part of “Project Suma” We’re going to be looking for creators from all fields of expertise in order to make this project a success. It doesn’t matter if your old to LBP or new to the game. If you think you’re qualified for the project, just show us what you can do. Also, to minimize conflict in people’s schedules, I will probably creating a dropbox account in which you can back up the levels on your USB as a file and send it there, all without having to worry about when others are online. We’re Looking For • Voice Actors (male and female) • Experts in Movie Making and Cinematic • Logic Experts • Object Creators • Costume Creators • Scenery Creators • Creators Good at Building at Various Gameplay (Platformer Games, fps, ect) • Music Creators • Script Writers for Cut-Scenes and Dialoge • Enemy Creators (Scratch Built and Sackbot) • Sticker creators/ In-Game Graphic artist • Profile World Creators • Anything else we might not have mentioned If you think of anything else you are good at that you would like to contribute to the project just let us know. For this project, even the smallest jobs such as game promoters and video and trailer creators will overall make a BIG difference. Its been a whole week and still no information? I have checked in this thread every once in a while expecting some unfoldment of a great project but I have been disappointed every time. I think you should have waited till you had some information to post before even making this thread TBQH. Also just curious but do you even have anything to post or are you still writing it? well yes and know. I'm mainly done with the summary. Just editing so to prevent spoilers. You see, the story is HUGE and this is really just the first game from the saga that we have been writing. The plot for game one is done. but we didn't want to spoil the fun for those who want to play the project and we don't want to reveal the whole story in the first game. Therefore, only the ones who are invited to join the project will be able to view the whole story as of now. Sooooooo the main character is quinn But youll play as yourself and in cutscenes youll see yourself? Did i read that right? Kind of like how you "are" Nathan Drake in the Uncharted games; you aren't actually him, but you decide what he does and where he goes. Good to see the full post is up. The reason we decided to keep a defined character such as Quinn while letting him be a sackboy is because you keep great elements of the story such as how Quinn gets along with other characters, his love intrest, and his speech while still having sackboy attributes such as being able to use all gameplay features such as water and the grappling hook. Haven't been here in a while but I'm back. Hey Gamerater15, from what I saw from your pixa on lbp.me, i don't think your ready to enter in this project for the world making field. But I do wish you well in your levels. I haven't really seen your logic so if you could send me some type of example of what you do in that field that would be good. Something that might help with the voice casting will be to add some quotes for the characters in the opening post, give us a roughage of the characters age's (Around *insert number here* etc) and tell us what type of voice you envision for these characters (deep, quiet, crazy etc).
