Jingly Bells!

Archive: 7 posts

Hey everyone, im new to the whole LBP thing, but i made a few levels, the one in particular that i wanted some feedback on is called "jingly bells." i made it in an attempt to make those music ones a little more entertaining than a 2MPH ride. (i would like to clarify that i really love those, and the method i did would only work for very familiar and simple songs)

It took about 10 hours to create, and i had to keep going back because random stuff happens when building, for instance, the main portion keeps detaching from the floor, the skis kept popping off and so on. i had my wife beta test it, and we think the bugs are all gone.

I threw in a couple presents, one from my kitchen level, (floaty ice cream cone) and the others are from a personal level i call my laboratory, where i make fun gizmos and gadgets. (one of the most fun things to do with this game is make nifty gadgets)

Anyhow, check out my levels, i really want feedback from the jingle bells one, but any feedback from any of my levels is welcome and greatly appreciated.

noone eh? well i hope someone wants to try it out. i'd like the feedback. i'm working on another gadget too, a 4-legged mech with my patented "quickaim" laser gun. if anyone wants it, i'll toss it into the gift box.

P.S. i republished it, Now With Weather effects!

I will try it out shortly!
I have so many levels to try out on my backlog, but I will try yours out first.

EDIT: A very beautiful level which got me into the Xmas mood.

I played it twice, but the second time, the sleigh skipped a note or two of the melody.

Nice overall. I hearted it.

What the heck, I can't find the level and I have you on my friends list, all I see is "Escape from the kitchen" and "Intestinal Fortitude" <-- Lawl.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's all the way on the other side of the planet, Doh!

EDIT2:I really don't know why, but when I played this I had a smile on my face, it's really cute in it's own little way, I love the detail in the level really I do, the houses with christmas lights on top, the snow flakes falling down. It was really rather jolly ( No pun intended )

What I would suggest, is make the song a bit more, like itself, there were some times where I would go really slow, and some parts were I would "skip" a beat. Overall really fun, and worth the 30 seconds or so? ( Didn't keep track of time )

EDIT3layed it a second time just for the hell of it, and wow I didn't notice you can turn on the lights at the end, my God this level has so much Christmasy feel I love it, and going down the chimney, I did that as well ( After I read your edit in your previous post )

No, but I knew there was a secret somewhere. I didn't know if I needed to get the sleigh all the way up to far right of the ending arc to where the magnet switch was hanging.

I loved the snow. Great work.

Thanks guys, im glad you liked it. next level is gonna be christmasy too. im thinking that the quest will be to make the biggest sack-snowman in the neighborhood, by collecting snowballs throughout the level. i think i can make it like tetris, like at the end you get a bigger rocket if you get a higher score. im considering how i can do it.2008-11-30 10:31:00
