[Glitch] How to link distant objects without any physical connection
Archive: 14 posts
Hey all ! This is my first tutorial, so I hope it will be nicely done and that some of you will find it useful. (and sorry for my english, i'm french) Well, i'll show you how to glue some distant objects without any physical connection (no rods, no hologram, no dark matter... nothing !). Here is my video (I speak in french, but you can easily understand by just watching to what I do in it and i'll add english subtitles soon) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06IDZAh2bRk&hd=1 Here is a textual explanation : 1. Put your objects where you want they stay from each other. 2. Glue an other piece of material to your objects. 3. Put a destroyer tool on this piece of material and set it to "Fall apart". 4. Put a button somewhere and wire it to the destroyer. 5. Activate the button and the piece of material will disappear, letting your objects linked without any physical connection. I know you can do that with rods or something else, but I hope some of you will think it's a nice alternative method and it's useful. What do you think about it ? Note : This glitch has been found by me in the beta version of the game, I reported it and MM only fixed it for some destruction method with the destroyer tool, but it is still possible by using the "Fall apart" method, i don't know why, but it's cool. Update : See when you attach things with invisible holo it change's the 'center' of your object, which thows a joystick rotater off. When you use this, your object 'glued' doesn't affect your center it seems, which then allows you to use joystick rotater... | 2011-03-20 22:30:00 Author: Torkass Posts: 22 |
Why not just get a anti gravity tweaker set it to 100% dampening and let it rip. Or invisble string | 2011-03-21 02:20:00 Author: tuyyui Posts: 175 |
Man, I just say that : "it works like this and it's a glitch". Nothing else. And 100% dampening makes it like a dark matter, so you can't move it. 99% is ok. | 2011-03-21 10:10:00 Author: Torkass Posts: 22 |
Where I see this being useful is if you need to glue two objects together that need to move together, yet remain apart in 3D space. i.e. if you have a holo projection from your object occuring in the back layer, but your object is in the front layer. Great tip. Thanks! | 2011-03-21 12:47:00 Author: Thegide Posts: 1465 |
Very good, tbh when I first heard about it I thought "advanced glue" would let us do this. Of course gluing invisible holographic material to your objects has the same effect... Oh and it is "Fall apart" in English LBP btw | 2011-03-21 14:13:00 Author: thor Posts: 388 |

I think this might actually be very useful to me... Gonna try it out XD | 2011-03-21 15:37:00 Author: LukeCF Posts: 790 |
Whoa, awesome! I managed this once with sackbots but didn't know it was possible with regular objects! Kinda reminds me of the bolt glitch from LBP1... | 2011-03-22 03:46:00 Author: Blue Helmet Posts: 306 |
I can't imagine why you'd use this over invisible holo, you could basically stop at step 2 and not have to worry about some flaky glitch. | 2011-03-22 13:58:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |

Because of hologram matter can possibly interract with an impact sensor in some case. Yep, tweak the impact sensor to make it only interract with a magnetic key is a solution, but MAN, THAT'S A GLITCH ! XD | 2011-03-23 00:40:00 Author: Torkass Posts: 22 |
I think this just gave me the power to do what I wanted to do. See when you attach things with invisible holo it change's the 'center' of your object, which thows a joystick rotater off. Oh ! Nice find ! This will increase the interrest of the glitch ! ^^ | 2011-04-15 00:56:00 Author: Torkass Posts: 22 |

When you use this, your object 'glued' doesn't affect your center it seems, which then allows you to use joystick rotater... That actually IS pretty interesting...my solution to your previous problem would have been to try bolting each individual to the point on the holo you wanted, so each rotator rotated those and not the holo itself, but this glitch sounds like it'll actually make that easier! Good find on everyones part, and I'll remember this (though I don't usually build with glitches, I'm paranoid for some reason) | 2011-04-21 17:12:00 Author: EvilWuun Posts: 152 |
