So I finally was making some progress in create mode, when my game froze . Ever since then, LBP has been freezing up every time I play it. I tested out the PSP by playing a FIFA UMD which worked fine, so it is not the PSP or the UMD drive itself. I play the UMD version of LBP. Whenever I load up the level I've been working on, it instantly freezes. Even without that level it seems completely unplayable; sometimes when I go into LBP it freezes before I can even do anything in the menu's; other times, it will let me play a story level or two then freeze. It's not the red screen crash or anything; it simply gets stuck for about 10 seconds then the power goes off without me touching it and the next time I turn it on, it's back at the PSP main menu. It sounds like the UMD is making a subtle weird noise when it's spinning but that could just be in my head. So are these symptoms of a corrupt profile (I've never had a corruption problem in the past so I don't know anything about them)? Or does this sound like a problem with the UMD? What should I do? And if anyone needs more info or you need me to try something specifically to get more info, let me know and I should be able to get back to you pretty quickly. Thanks in advance.

Well such crashes are pretty standard however, it sounds like they are occuring very frequently. This leads me to belive its a problem with your disc. Try a hoover/ vacuum cleaner on the disc. This removes dust and doesn't do any damage to the disc. If the issue persists then see if you can have it cleaned by a professional or take the game to your local store and have them look at it. I would also recommend backing up data and or trying out an old profile copy, just in case.

This sounds like a level corruption problem to me. However, I've never had trouble with playing story mode levels but this could just be from you having this corrupt level in your game. If you can't get into your level on your moon editing or playing, then it's corrupted sadly and no one has found a fix for this yet although there are several ways you can prevent it such as making copies of your level. I doubt it's your UMD because they seem pretty sturdy to me and I haven't heard of any troubles with them thus far. Best of luck and remember to make copies

Yes, but it was right after I made the copy when I figured that it was corrupted, and so both the copy and original are corrupted. And of course I decided to overwrite my other copy this time to try and prevent future clutter .

I found LBP-PsP Downloadable Content to corrupt the game cuasing freezes. I formatted my memory stick and replayed LBP and it worked perfect for 3months and still does just be careful with the LBP-PsP downloadable content. then again i could be wrong, but good luck.

Oh yeah, that's good thinking. However, I have never purchased any DLC, and have only gotten a couple of the free ones (updates, like 2 costumes, and the fantasy background). So I'd guess it's something else. But thanks for the idea.

I sure hope it's not DLC.. Something kinda similar happened to my game (I get an error message..) after I bought all the PS3 story packs. Seriously, if spending more money on this game caused it to crash, I'm gonna be ticked. <.<

What you can do is download a complete save from gamefaqs or I found one called "My Moon", these have My Moon completely populated with blank levels. You could find the level that is corrupt in your profile folder (the one with the date you last editted it) and then copy the blank level from the zip files mentioned above. You will have lost your creation but you should get your game back and any other levels you have created.
