This is a remake of my LBP1 level "Invasion On Planet X". I've decided to expand the story and add new gameplay elements. The story will probably be completed in part 2.

Btw, make sure you play the NEW "Invasion On Planet X" and not the LBP1 level of the same title. I've had a couple people play the wrong one..

If you want me to F4F, just make sure you let me know which level. Thanks!

First off, a few parts frustrated me a bit such as trying to kill the enemy at the start. Didn't realise you cant kill them at first. Then again I am pretty dam tired and still semi hung over so it could just be that. Ok about the level it was very entertaining and fun to watch to see what happens next. Your humour is fun to watch unfold, slapstick well timed dark humour, man those alien things are worse then Lemmings, they are so dopey! haha.Funny ending too. Well done, it was wholey entertaining. "Can someone get me a glass of water?" Haha. Very nice. Looked sweet too. Check out my level "Symphony of Dissonance" if you get a chance. I hope you enjoy. It's on page one of cool pages at the moment too.2011-03-20 09:33:00

[sorry about my poor english]

Exellent level with good humour and beautiful scenery. The ending was completley unexpected and very funny. The only frustrating part was the race, I've lost a lot of time at some points to figure out how to get to the next part because of the camera angle. The end also came abruptly (I wanted to kill more aliens by myself ), but it's so funny that I forgive you.

If you want to check out my level, the F4F link is in my sig. I'm starting to be ashamed of it when I see all excellent levels here, but I would really appreciate a feeback on it.

Just played this, it's very good, some great scenery, and the humour is fun. Most enjoyable. The only real problem I experienced is the lift that is meant to go up and down wouldn't go up again after retrieving the glasses and appeared broken. But it's not a level breaker as I simply jumped down the waterfall and went that way again. So yes, thanks for sharing! Super!

Edit: Oopsy, I played the old level, thanks for pointing that out. Played the new one, and there are some great improvements, fantastic, and love the humour. Big thumbs up from me. Only thing I can suggest to change is increasing the timer on the race, I think I did relatively well and I had only six seconds left on the clock! More of a personal preference though, I wouldn't want the less skilled players to feel down as the timer had expired well before them reaching the finishing line. Anyway, super stuff!

I played and reviewed your level a few hours ago, and it was brilliant! I love the way you substituted gibberish voices for the duck sound effect, and the general humour in the level is ingenious. The cliffhanger use at the end really makes me want to see the next installment, too. I don't actually have a completed level for you to feedback on, but could you... maybe, help me test my new level? I'll PM you the code if you want to 2011-03-20 13:19:00

I increased the main race timer to 2.5 minutes (from 2 minutes). Also, there's a 10,000 point bonus for completing the race in less than 1 minute. The race is designed to be a little tricky the first time through. I threw in optional paths and puzzles to give it a little replay value there.2011-03-20 15:29:00

I have really fond memories of the original.... what... about 2 years ago?x It was the first time I experienced your humor, so with the advances of LBP2 I looked forward to playing this remake.

Great job! The sackpeople definately added a lot of personality, and the humor elements really stayed in tact. Played through the whole thing twice! Need to go back once more....

I STINK at the race..... mainly because of that last swing. I'm terrible at the grapple hook swings, and it took me a really long time to get up to the exit gate. Had lots of time.... but.... I just..... couldn't..... swing!!!!

Great job!

This looks like a lot of fun, I'll go ahead and queue it.

... Aaaaand I'm back.

It is indeed shiny and new, so that's the first good thing.
I have to say that the tone was set pretty well right at the beginning when you get points for giving someone a heart attack.
The visuals were also good, not outstanding but the use of the layer glitch to add that little extra was nice.

However,

The jump at the end is asking a little too much, I managed to do it pretty quickly but judging by the other responses that's not universal.
The monsters' brains were too small, sometimes I swear I landed on them but I was zapped.
In some areas you could use subtle game-cameras to hint at the direction you're meant to go. For some reason I found myself committing suicide looking for a hidden ledge of some sorts. Fun though it was I'd rather not be in the situation

I did really enjoy it though, the humour didn't seem forced like a lot of the stuff you see on LBP.

Would you mind checking my level out? https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=53363-The-Story-Isn-t-Over&p=810075#post810075

Excellent level. But like someone above I had major difficulty with the grapple point at the end, took me about 5 minutes, no exaggeration. I would have given up on the level had I not been right at the end, such a shame for me to finish a brilliant level on such a frustrating aspect. I think the grappling mechanics are flawed in LBP to begin with though, they make no sense to me. Another gripe is when you run left behind the waterfall to get the glasses. Immediately after there is a point when you jump forward a layer on the cliff, I somehow managed to fall down here quite easily and ended up in the yellow smoke cavern down below. It was a small annoyance, but maybe you could put a small wooden fence along this little section so that you can't jump forward.

Even still, brilliant level, was really fun and I enjoyed working out how to get the hard to reach prize bubbles. I'll post a link to a level of mine once I've updated it for F4F. =)

Thanks everybody. Last night I lowered the ledge by the last grapple that people were getting stuck at. Is it still too high? That's the problem with playtesting a level 10,000 times. I just fly through the whole thing & it's hard to tell where people will have difficulties. I guess I'll lower the ledge even farther. I never intended for this level to be very challenging.

Regarding the confusing paths, where exactly are people losing the path?

Personally, I'd say a better solution to lowering the ledge is adding an extra grapple point between the ledge and the existing grapple point if your intention isn't for the level to be challenging.2011-03-21 03:39:00

I actually used to have an invisible wall on that layer change you mentioned. Not sure what happened to that, lol. I'll make another. Thanks.2011-03-21 04:29:00

Chasing down the aliens was great fun, loved the dialog...very enjoyable level, Not sure what part people are having problems with...the swing to the end race gate? I didn't have any trouble...but I could see that being tricky...2011-03-21 04:36:00

A few updates:
-I tweaked the alien crab things so they're easier to kill.
-the ledge after the last swing is significantly lower now
-the race timer is 3 minutes (bonus is still 1 minute)
-changed UFO impact
-widened narrow ledges slightly

Also, apologies for not getting around to any F4Fs yet. I'll start on them Wednesday.

I played this level last night, and it is hilarious and exciting.

VISUALS:
The entire details of the level looked really cool. The layer glitch is unique, and the materials are greatly polished with corner edit. The aliens are well made as well.

SOUND:
Great idea to keep the musics old-school in this remake.

GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay of this level is solid. This level has some of the best score givers involving platforming levels yet, and has great racing for points and grappling hook feature. The only flaw I have in this level is that when you jump onto a collapsing platform with an alien, he and I died together.

OVERALL:
An outstanding level with tremendous amount of visuals and fun. It looks like we'll be seeing a sequel judging by the cliffhanger ending. A yeah vote, a heart, and a positive review.

I just queued this, and from the screenshots you provided, it looks VERY visually-appealing! I hope to get a review in by tonight, but while I'm at that, do you think you could check out my level that me and my crew have been working on for a long time? http://lbp.me/v/y4n7x0

Well so far I've played this twice and I giggle each time I play it.

All the best stuff from the original is still there and with the addition of sackbots and the new camera controls this level is even shinier than it was. The dialogue is hilarious and the end sequence is hysterical. Thought the addition of the bounce pads and grappling hook made it more fun to play than the original but the race section is a bit confusing. Guess the clever are rewarded in this case

My only complaint is the pillar section - and I think I may have mentioned this in the original. It's the blind layer shifting that you have to do that bugs me a bit. It's so minor but in a level as nicely designed as this it's a section that stands out as an issue. Like I said very minor though.

So ya, great work updating a classic level and keeping your particular brand of zany humor in there too. Smilies & hearted from me.

Played this a while back in dive in. I unfortunately missed the very beginning of the level and was too lazy to go back, so yea

Very nice scenery that was nice to look at, I really liked all the decorations you used. And the material choice was very nice indeed.

Gameplay was great! Solid and original stuff that was fun to play through. But there were a few things that bugged me a bit. A few of the baddies creature brains were a bit small and that made it a little hard. Also, that jump at the end was kinda tough. Other than that, it was very good.

If I was on LBP1, I'd give you :star::star::star::star::star: but sadly I could only give you a for lbp2

Also congrats on getting trending levels on lbp.me :hero:

F4F: It'd be nice if you could check my first PS3 level (http://bit.ly/fXzegc). I promise its not spammish and noob material.

This level is incredible!! The crash cut scene was great, especially the part where the ship was getting hot and looked like it was burning up. I liked the interjections of humor throughout, and the scenery was built well and interesting to look at. The playability was challenging, but not so hard I wanted to quit before I finished. Well done!

Please give my F4F level, Are We There Yeti? (http://lbp.me/v/z5y83j), a try.
