Need help with bomb counter

I'm making a bullet-shooter game, and i want a holographic counter that tells how many bombs the player has. It needs to go up everytime the player touches a tag, and down everytime the player uses a bomb. Is there any way to do this or should I just scrap the idea?

yes...there are several ways. How many bombs will the player be able to hold will determine which way works best.

so....how many will he be able to use?

ok then take a counter set to three and run a direction combiner as its input. Every time he picks up a bomb, pulse the positive side, and every time he uses one pulse the negative side.

Then set the output of that to a positional sequencer, and use that to choose which number to display.
