I am trying to use letters made of hologram in the same exact place and depending on what letters are triggered it reads something different. For some reason it won't let me put overlapping hologram letters. What is going on?

This is only a hunch, but are you copying (R3) a letter then putting it in the same spot every time?

i've not experienced this problem. Holo shouldn't have an issue co-existing with any material. Have you tried it in a new level? Might be something in the level that's gone wacky.

And no, I'm putting a word over another word but no letter is the exact same spot on either word. Have you tried it in a new level? Might be something in the level that's gone wacky. I haven't tried the letters in another level but I have tried just placing several squares of holo down and then moving them into the exact same spot and they do that just fine in this level. It's just having problems with the letters made of holo.

if you place a not switch connected to itself and a destroyer set to "fall apart" collision on the hologram you just placed it on is enabled (But sackboy can walk through it still). The hologram will also fall to the ground IIRC.

http://lbp.me/v/z7wkzs It's because the letters were originally created by another user, so they're not editable by you. When you move the letters over each other and press X, it's (erroneously) doing an editablility check, even though hologram doesn't cut into other hologram. So, yeah, that's arguably a bug in LBP, but you can work around it by pressing O instead of X once you've moved it. Or you can strip the previous creator info to make them editable by you, by using the stencil trick (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=29803-Font-Central-(The-kind-that-are-actually-useful)&p=753985&viewfull=1#post753985).
