in this level, you play as a baby song owl. you get to use songs to solve puzzles. TUTORIAL OF CONTROLS :star:==================:star: the little thing shining your popit color is your point. you can move it with the right stick. if you lose it, pressing triangle will teleport it back to you. whenever you do a song, it will always shoot and follow your pointer. there are four diffrent songs so far water song (r1) shoots water that can douse or destroy flaming stuff. star song (r2) destroys some stuff. calm song (l2) will be able to activate forest gel, witch might deactivate obstacles. light song(l1) can light up stuff. and for the f4f, Ill feedback about 5 or more levels if i have the time. :star: http://lbp.me/v/y3pmk3 | 2011-03-19 20:00:00 Author: Cactii Posts: 426 |
[sorry about my english] Here are my feedbacks about the level : - The idea of an owl with 4 different songs is cool. Liked it. - It's difficult to aim with the current configuration. Did you try to make the owl "sing" in the direction of the right stick instead of moving a cursor ? Maybe it's difficult to implement or it's not what you wanted, but the current way of singing was weird. - The controls of the owls are ok, but can you make it shoot only one song at the time ? - Decorations and lightnings are clearly a weak point of the level. Maybe your thermometer is filled up, but rounding angles, making the whole thing more detailled and more coherent would be good. - I liked the slowing aspect of the calm song and puzzles where you have to slow things. Overall, this is a level based on a good idea, with effort put into it, but I found there are some flaws in controls and decoration. Keep working and it could be a descent level . | 2011-03-19 20:31:00 Author: Slurm Posts: 262 |
thanks for your feedback. Ill be sure to take your ideas into some considerations. also, could you give me the link to your F4f thread in your level? it will make it much more easier for me to give you feedback. | 2011-03-19 20:38:00 Author: Cactii Posts: 426 |
Now that I've read your description in this thread it makes more sense. I had to give up playing because the font size was so tiny that I couldn't read a word of it on my TV screen, and not fully understanding the controls it was too confusing for me to proceed. (I did try for awhile) But I can say this much--the concept for this level is incredibly original and everything looks terrific! These are just the kind of original ideas for levels that I want to see more of. Also, I simply must ask...how did you make that purple sunset effect in the background? It's probably something easier than I think, huh? | 2011-03-19 21:42:00 Author: zabel99 Posts: 179 |
to get the purple sunset, I changed the fog color to purple and the water to orange and it gives that kind of effect. Plus, there where these two giant spotlights at the bottom. | 2011-03-19 23:36:00 Author: Cactii Posts: 426 |
Its a good concept, but theres a lot you need to work on, for one, the player pointer should follow the owl when you are not moving it, a few times the pointer went off the screen and i could not get it back | 2011-03-20 18:14:00 Author: matt54123 Posts: 38 |
Looks interesting, I've queued it for playing in about an hour. Do you mind trying mine? Linky (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=53363-The-Story-Isn-t-Over) Okay feedback time for you, It was a really good concept but I can't help but feeling it was let down in the execution. - Flying felt kinda clunky. - Aiming was hard. - I couldn't read the notes at all, got there by trial and error in the end. - I lost the cursor and couldn't find it again. - The repetitive sounds form the owl got pretty annoying after a little bit. - It looked good though. - Was nice and relaxing. With some more work this could turn out to be outstanding. | 2011-03-20 19:04:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
