Make a Paintinator Shoot Anything

MAKE A PAINTINATOR SHOOT ANYTHING!

Okay, before we start I want to let you know that this is still very glitchy, and that if I find a workaround to these glitches I will post them here. Other than these glitches, the only downside is that you can only use it with a sackbot.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1 DCS Sackbot
1 Paintinator

STEPS:

1. Get a paintinator out and put a DCS Sackbot above it.
1.5 (If you allow the sackbot to use creatinators, he can use paintinators too!)
2. Hit play and let the sackbot equip the paintinator.
3. Re-adjust the sackbot in grid and save it.
4. Delete the paintinator.
5. Pull out the sackbot and hold X where you want to place it. (Until an emitter's settings come up.)
6. An emitter's settings should show up. This is the paintinator.
6.5 It should show that it shoots a creature brain, but it is really the paint.
7. Change the paintinator and make it shoot what you want.
7.5 Make sure it lines up nice with the paintinator!
8. Change rate of fire and lifetime to whatever you want.
9. Get in the sackbot.
10. Enjoy!

GLITCHES:

1. Once you start firing, it will keep firing at a slower rate, even when you release R1. [COMMON]
2. It will shoot behind you or up and slightly to the left. {UNCOMMON}

I tried to shoot an object I had saved and it fried my profile so I had to go to a backup. It shot bombs without messing anything up though.. For obvious reasons I wont be messing with this glitch anymore, except to shoot bombs. 2011-03-19 09:26:00

Or back up your profile before you do.

Everyone knows to back ujp profiles before mesing with glitches, specially new ones. xD

This sounds pretty awesome. I think I'll try it out now, after backing up my profile first obviously.

Edit: Tried it, set it to fire a rocket. Instant crash. This glitch isn't exactly safe to use at all.

Umm...sorry? I never realized this glitch would be able to mess up an entire profile.
I never back up my profile, and I never have problems...
Now that I think about it, backing up my profile would probably be smart.

From what I can tell, the usability of this glitch is limited to objects of minimal complexity, (eg: missiles don't work because of the rocket). However if somebody can prove me wrong, that would make me quite happy. 2011-03-20 09:12:00

It's agreat find, only it keeps freezing the game and doesn't work the same way as a controllinator which applies costumes...too bad I would love to customize the gun.2011-03-26 18:46:00

After some experimenting, I've found that this glitch only seems to work with things that are composed of one object. For example, I set it to fire a boxing glove and it worked fine, because boxing gloves are physically only one object. I tried making it fire a teacup, however, and BAM - instant freeze. This was because teacups are composed of three objects: a theck section, a thack section, and a thock section.2011-03-28 20:09:00

Nice find. I really wish Mm woulda' just given us the option to tweak paintinators or any other gun-shaped object instead of needing to use the goofy helmet creatinators, though they probably did that on purpose to keep things more 'E' rated. I'll definitely be giving this a try, and I suggest anybody who wants to try it do so quickly--this seems like the kind of glitch that Mm would want to patch up quickly due to the profile corruption issue.2011-03-29 10:38:00

Using this, I managed to detach a sackbot's head from its body. I gave a sackbot a paintinator, placed a destroyer on its microchip, and then activated the destroyer while the emitter tweak menu was open. I was left with an invisible, intangible, Piston matter-esque square thingy. Whee.2011-03-30 20:56:00

Thock is a sublayer that's inside the thick layer, but in the front, as opposed to theck which is in the back. The catch is that no-one's been able to obtain a stable thock material so far.

BTW, the recent patch seems to have made this glitch harmless and safe - I tried making a sackbot fire a teacup the other day, and it worked fine...

If you set the paintinator to fire lbp2 plasma it fires a plasma ball, but if you choose electricity it fires electrified paint. Also, i have found that when you choose the place to emit, the original object is being emitted miles away. When i change this, the game crashes, if i emit the new object in the same place it seems to be ok.
When using this there is a problem, in that it is difficult to fight a sackbot using a paintinator due to the rate at which they fire. It helps to tweak the settings a bit.

you can emit anything from the gun like a normal emitter...

And yes, that obvious solution works, but it doesn't look like a paint gun.

& it's not buggy anymore you can make it emit anything with no freezing, it was fixed awhile ago.
