How to respawn as a sackbot?

When you die as a sackbot, how can you respawn as a sackbot?

Before I start this isn't the most effective way, but if you have stored info on the actual sackbot then this is the only thing i can think of (for if your making an rpg system, as an example of this technique)... (does not work for some hazards such as electric as the sacbot actually dies, or if you want your sacbot to use a DCS) see alternate method at the bottom.

Well what I did (kind of confusing and probably not the simplist way) is have a follower following the sackbot (using a seperate follower, dont actually use this follower to follow him) and then make a counter or something for his health and also make tag at the spawn point, along with a tag sensor set to max on the sackbot, and also a selector. You also want a behaviour chip that has use DCS enabled.

Hook the selector up to each tag/spawn point and on each point have a player sensor(assuming your using the whole follow with invisible holo idea, if not set a tag on the sacbot etc...) which leads to a one shot (counter set to one), take note that all other playor sensors should reset said counter.
Next make an and for each selector input and hook his health counter/timer into one of them and the player sensor in the other. Also have it so that the and activates the alternate behaviour chip.

So basically it would work something like this:


Sackbot passes checpoint A, one part of and for the follower to go to checkpoint A activates. Sackbot gets hit with object and loses his health, so now both parts of the and are activated, tag is selected from selector and turned on, the alternate behaviour will be activated and the sackbot will enter the DCS and the sackbot will fly (full speed) towards the spawn point (may want to have a black flash or something to cover it up. Then simply have the first chip behaviour chip be enabled and you can carry on like you have just respawned

It works for me, but I am doing this from memory so there may be some missing some components, but it should be fine.

Alternate way (sacbot will die and will need to be emitted so dont store anything on the sackbot.

Emit the sackbot when you die and have the DCS to automaticaly enter. Pretty simple really.

I would check out comphermc's tutorial, it is very useful, teaches you some neat tricks and keeps the logic relatively simple & modular

You mean out of a respawn point as if you were a sackboy?

Put a tag on your sackbot. Have an emitter at a respawn point hooked up to a tag sensor (set to 5000 range). When your sackbot dies, have the sensor turn the emitter on and have it emit an identical sackbot. If you have more than one respawn point, you can set up some logic that turns that specific tag/emitter on, and all others in the level off.
