A creepy thing about pokemon

Archive: 36 posts

do any anyone remember the lavender town theme? well appretnly there where some incidents involving with the towns theme.
When “Pokemon” was first released in Japan, there was an odd phenomenon between children ages 7-12, particularly in those using headphones to listen to the sound effects. Increase of nosebleeds, irritability, insomnia, and addiction to the game, playing for hours and hours on end and crying to the point of vomiting when the opportunity was taken away.

Roughly 70% of these cases ended in suicide.

In almost every case of the aforementioned symptoms, despite gameplay time recorded to the limit of the internal clock, the game had not progressed further than “Lavender Town”.

A closer analysis of the game revealed a tone in the audio of the music for “Lavender Town” at a pitch undetectable by fully developed human ear drums. Within weeks every unsold copy of the “first edition” the game were recalled silently and the game was re-released with re-mastered audio for “Lavender Town”.

The widely known version is said to be missing three extra tones, as well as the unique, binaural tone of the first edition, although this is unconfirmed due to the rarity of working first edition copies; in the known few that remain, the internal clock and ‘battery save’ have all timed out and ceased function, and in many cases the game will freeze upon entering any battle.
A better article is right here (http://pastebin.com/f71e6728f)

How did they even know what happened to the last detective if he was alone and his body wasn't discovered for days? And the story had nothing to do with Lavender Town.2011-03-18 05:57:00

the other article was about the investigation about the lavender town theme, tho of course half of my brain is still skeptical about that story. But however the whole suicide thing is real (i think)2011-03-18 06:12:00

Not sure if I believe the 'Suicide' part. All these creepy stories about some form of media seem to end that way and are always fake.

However, as a kid, I thought this theme was pretty disturbing. The whole towns focus on death was quite morbid and I never really liked that part of the game.

EDIT: I just read the entire article and the thing has more plot holes than a wedge of cheese. A scary story, maybe, but absolutely not true in the slightest.

Plus, the whole things reads like a terrible horror movie script. Real life suicide cases and police investigations do not work like that.
Sorry, but this is complete and utter BS.

Form the creators of "Suicide Mouse" and that other creepy story like it that no one remembers, bring a story about horror, mystery, and strange cases with no survivors that no one can trully confirm...but people still know somehow.

"The lavander Town Massacre!"
Do you believe in ghosts now...?

Rated BS for everyone, coming to theatres near you.

It's a weird kinda thing to me. Not as bad as say, a phobia, but similar in the way it sticks. The high tones are so creepy and eerie, as a kid, it unsettled me.

Not to say it's a bad song mind, by saying that it's obviously done it's job very well!

"Found" this.

When ?this thread? was first released on LBPC, there was an odd phenomenon between children ages 7-12, particularly in those using PS3's to browse the site. Increase of nosebleeds, irritability, insomnia, and addiction to the site, browsing for hours and hours on end and crying to the point of vomiting when the opportunity was taken away.

Roughly 70% of these cases ended in suicide.

In almost every case of the aforementioned symptoms, despite better things to waste time with on the internet, the browser had not progressed further than ?this thread?.

A closer analysis of the site revealed a stupidity for ?this thread? at a level detectable by fully developed human brains. Within hours every member was ignoring ?this thread? the thread silently fell down the pages and was revived with a stupid post when a new person found it 8 months later.

The widely known version is said to be missing three extra sarcasm tags, as well as the unique, , although this is unconfirmed due to the rarity of people willing to revisit the thread; in the known few that remain, the server will time out and cease function, and in many cases the site will freeze upon entering any thread.

Sousuke, we don't want to shoot!

"Shoot me?" asked Souske, laughing at the same time. "Shoot ME? You're as dumb as Chiro was! Once he found out the truth, he had to end it! It was his fault after all! He shot himself because of it! If you're so determined to finish that case of yours, if you want to know, play the **** game for yourself! Roll the wheel, and who knows? Maybe you'll learn the secret for yourself!

Seriously? This whole thing acts out like a horrible horrible movie. Not a single suicide case was ever proven to have been the way this story tells it. Kids burning themselves? Cutting off their own limbs? You guys are joking right? To even slightly believe that the suicides are true?

It's all a scare. It's entertaining, but not 1% of it is true.

You don't find it odd that a police report would go into such detail that he was "smiling" (which was put into the story to give that creepy feeling that almost every story has, a creepy smile is what it's all about now a days.)

Seriously. -_-

Give it a rest :/ Maybe you haven't noticed but there seems to be more "zomg i laughs at people who believe this" posts than there are actual posts claiming to believe this? You can say whether or not you believe it or maybe share opinions and related articles like everyone else, but attempting to bash the beliefs of others in order to make yourself appear higher is not a good use of your time.

(not aimed at any one individual)

IMP I think it's great that people can spin these spine tingling stories that surround popular media It's great creative writing and all though some people can get carried away, it's always a good read.

The only creepy thing about pokemon is that it's a world where people are encouraged to injure wild animals, confine them inside of tiny containers against their will for extended periods of time, and then force them to brutally fight other animals on a regular basis. Pretty sick stuff when you think about it.
Thankfully it's just a game.

I remember talking something similar with my cousin, he told me about some polygon scene on the show that was tooken out cause it cause some kinds of brain damage or whatever to kids in pokemon, I didnt even know to believe it, now Idk about this all haunted thing or..whatever but, Maybe those kids just were sick maybe?

I mean I heard the song, and so did my lil bro just now and well we found it normal, all he said was "it sucks" and he left to play call of duty lol.
Idk what all this is about, I havent even read everything but maybe those kids who had these kind of problems like you say maybe just were sick or something.
idk really just my opinion, if you guys believe it or not, so be it.

Thanks man! I just found to funnies on that site!

Gengar who appears at every full moon and scares people by pretending to be their shadow.
Haunter, however, especially in Gold/Silver, is much more sinister looking. One Haunter in the manga adaptation of the show was the size of a skyscraper and it to uses its Dream Eater attack to steal peoples' souls.
Actually in most of Haunter's Pokedex entries Haunter pretty much DOES eat souls but the Pokedex refers to it a stealing their 'life force' and in the older games directly states it causes death.
According to Bulbapedia, Haunter's Pokedex entries from the Silver and Soul Silver games say that if a Haunter licks a person, the person starts shaking uncontrollably until death eventually comes. According to the Pokedex entry from the Diamond game, Haunter can pass through any obstacle. And, according to the Pokedex entry from the Crystal game, it hides in the dark, planning to take the life of the next living thing that wanders close by. So basically, Haunter kills you, slowly, just because you're alive. And it can get you, no matter where you are. And this is a game for children?!?
Hide yo' wife. Hide yo' kids. And hide yo' husband 'cause they lickin' e'rybody out here. Won't do much good, but still. It's the thought that counts, right? RIGHT?
The books in the Diamond and Pearl games discuss people killing and eating Pok?mon (Canalave City Library, third floor).
Well, the fact that people eat Pokemon is a bit more of Fridge Horror. When playing, you never think that offscreen, people are eating these cute little animals you've been adventuring with. Of course this in itself launches even further into Fridge Horror considering what the equivalent to a forced Eat The Dog would be in universe...
Considering that we never get to see any animal that isn't a Pokemon (at least I don't recall seeing one) there might be some Pokemon that are accepted by everyone as food.
Like chickens. You can eat a chicken, or have a pet chicken or even have a pet chicken that you one day eat.

Read the last sentences for each (they're in bold). They're hilarious!
