Has anyone noticed how lbp2 photos lose a **** ton of color compared to lbp1? A picture taken of a black sticker would become grayish compared to pure black in lbp1. Is there a way to remedy this?

Not that I know of. Unless you get a video capture device, or manage to make some nice pics/videos using an external camera, I don't know of a solution. Perhaps adjusting the lighting effects will adjust the appearance of the photo. It's generally accepted that photos of the game are much less detailed than actually playing the game, so if it's an issue of displaying your level correctly, just explain that it looks different in-game.

The photos in LBP2 are using different image compression. You may have noticed photos have much smaller file sizes despite being larger in dimensions when you export them. I haven't personally tested to see if the blacks in photos are grey but In-game you could try messing with the global lighting settings to make them seem more black maybe. Have you tried taking a photo of the black background fog in a blank level?
