Is it possible to make something grow?

Im working on a top down competitive level where I want one of the powerups to make the player (which I guess will be a custom creation as there doesnt seem to be a way to make a top down sackbot) grow. Is there any way to do this other than just having the smaller one destroyed and a bigger one emitted? Like, I want it to grow like a full animation... the only way i know is by having the smaller one destroyed while the biggest one is emmited. You could possibly use the grow feature on your emiter and cutscenes to make it more fluid. | 2011-03-17 21:49:00 Author: TREMIC1 Posts: 263 |
Is it possible to have the smaller one destroyed and the bigger one emitted with the same controlinator still controling it so there isn't a hitch in the movement/gameplay? I haven't even messed around with this yet. | 2011-03-17 23:30:00 Author: Unknown User |
Absolutely, just make the emitted bot have a remote controlled controlinator with the same color as the one you are controlling. If you have your controlinator attached to invisible holo that's following the bot the transition will be smooth. Place all the logic in a microchip in the middle of this holo(save the your controlinator considering that you have to enter it at some point) and the new bot will spawn in the exact same place as the old one is destroyed ready to be controlled. You may need a tiny 0,1 sec delay though in order to make sure that the old one is out of the way before spawning the new one. | 2011-03-17 23:42:00 Author: Discosmurf Posts: 210 |
