MindSmasher is a puzzle level in which you must activate all of the squares in the level and make it to the exit without passing over the same square twice. Please check it out and review it! F4F

Wow, Great level! I managed to complete the whole thing and enjoyed every minute of it!

+ Love the retro puzzle look
+ Controls are solid
+ Good length
+ I LOVE IT

- Had it a few times where the block that you move Clips a wall and it kills you
- Not sure if the scoring system is perfect, maybe have it so that it removes only the points that you have gained in that level? suppose everyone will hav the same score.. i don't know.

Brilliant, keep it up.

Please leave feedback on my level (first in my sig)

Title is very nice. Wow this is SO SO cool. Im not sure how you pulled it off but this is really really cool. The progression of difficulty is awesome. I think this level is for sure going places. Music is good, and i too love the retro look. It does take kinda an unfair amount of points away when u get it wrong. got stuck on one of the puzzles but thats my fault not yours. Awesome level cool idea. If you wanna F4F pick a level from my sig.2011-03-17 15:12:00

I Played it and found it extremely fun and refreshing. The look was a bit basic but it was fitting, even though a bit more decoration won't hurt. The only thing i didn't like is the penalty given for failing once, since failing one of the test 3-4 times brings your score back to 0 or so. To be honest i believe that a time-based score would be a lot better to show who really got through the level efficiently . Also I apologize if i missed it, but i didn't notice a reset button, with that if you realize early you're stuck you can restart with a smaller penalty. Obviously after a certain number of moves the reset must give full penalty.
Nice work

I played a level very similar to this once before. 'Phiphyl's Puzzle' it was.
I think I prefer your controls and difficulty progression, but Phiphyl did mix it up a bit more. Anyways, regarding your level...

It's alot of fun, and I reckon the race timer will add a competitive element for people who already know the solutions to the puzzles.
The puzzles themselves have a great difficulty curve, and I must admit - the last one held me for about 7 or 8 minutes. They're pretty well thought out.
Some other people have also pointed out that the block gets stuck on, or clips the corners of the puzzle walls sometimes, but this only happened to me once throughout 9 plays. I don't think it's a major dealbreaker, personally.

Appearance wise, personally, I don't dig the whole minimalist look, but that's just me. Even if you were to liven up some arenas with extra neon details or hologram animations, that might get a few extra browny points. But it's a small factor in an otherwise very neat level.

I normally try to go for a larger post, but admittedly, I don't feel there's much else to comment on. A great overall puzzler, with a few minor annoyances here and there.

Matt, your level is awesome.
I'm a little OCD so I had to perfect it. xD (got first ^^d)
The look the sounds, all great. The only thing that got me is that i didn't realize I had to go to green then yellow then red right away, maybe if you were to make them all red but the one you have to go to next green, and then switch the next one to green it might be a little clearer on the first pass.

And I would suggest that you lower the death penalty to just a few hundred hundred (though it should be bigger than your largest room), that will allow for more range in your scoring instead of just the big scores and the small scores. I only say this cause your top score is static and whatever points you get from taking the optimal path at the fastest speed.

But awesome level, great job.

if you've got some time please come check out my new level and let me know how it goes for you. F4F in the sig, thanks.

I couldn't move at all... I don't understand? Haha, maybe I need to read the how-to ... but I honestly never do that, as I think most players won't do that when they just pop into a game. Maybe force them to read a quick page instead of giving them an option.

I wanna F4F ... but I couldn't do anything in your game to be honest.

I will check it out again after the weekend and post more comments if I can get it to work ~

OK, so I've played it a few times. I really do like this a lot, so I can only find a few points to nitpick over.

The font looks a little scrappy. I mean, it's OK, but it doesn't quite fit the rest of the game
If it were me, I'd edit the controllinator so it gives control prompts in game. I know there's a "how to play" section, but annoyingly some people don't read these.
there are a few unexpected "clonk" noises when moving about - a material changer with physics noises turned off should solve this.
Er, my PS3 doesn't fit in my pocket. This is EXACTLY the sort of game I'd like on a portable device to play on the move.

Seriously - this is great stuff. It manages the trick of appearing simple, while having a great deal of depth to it, and I've really got to compliment you on your level design skills. Even the best puzzle game concepts can be ruined by poor level design, but I think you pitch this just about right.

So, it happened that I played your level and here's the feedback

Awesome puzzle game! Very challenging too! I actually liked it very much that there were so many levels

The only two things I'd dislike are:
1. that you get stuck sometimes and that you hear sometimes how the metal rubs against another.
2. that the design is always the same, even though there are so many levels.

But still good job! If you take care of these mistakes this level will be legendary!

Heya, Matt!

As you can observe from the leaderboards...I enjoyed your level.

I did not notice any scraping or stuck-getting in all my plays, so perhaps you've fixed those issues...?

My only gripes are aesthetic. Minimalist is fine, but the thinness of the square borders means that if I were to surround a blue square on all sides with red (or white walls are glaring out some edges), it can be hard to be sure whether I've been somewhere or not. You could always make the red squares filled-in, thicken the borders, animate the red glowings...anything, really. Or you could leave it. People who surround a square with red are doomed anyway.

The sounds are also very noticeably set to positional and sometimes sound closer or farther away. This MIGHT work if sounds got louder closer to the pink exit, but from what I could tell, my Sackboy was sitting somewhere else behind the level and it was mildly distracting to hear the sound levels go up and down.

So -- like I said, your level's great, so I nitpicked. Keep it up!

(if you don't mind, please do leave at least a short review of my level on the LBPC forums)

I liked that level, but i usually suck at puzzles. the look was good, but it needs more of a style. and the thing thats causing the wierd out of tile glitch is hitting a wall or the pink square when you dont have all the bricks highlighted. I was unable to get through it, some of the parts where to hard. a hint system would be nice.

Hey this is sweet! Very addictive and well made, you must have had fun coming up with the layouts in this some were really mind smashing (no pun intended)! Like the guy above me, maybe you should have a quick and easy to read menu that is forced on the player instead of givng the option as the truth is, if there is an option most people will not actually read it. Other than that it was great, I had to figure out which colour to go into before getting to the last one when there are multiple exits though but to me it wasn't much of a problem. Nice choice of music too. Please give me level a try, its an adventure/platformer. Its called "Symphony of Dissonance". It's currently on the cool pages and page 1 of the highest rated of the week. I really hope you enjoy it. Thank you.2011-03-20 09:01:00

Great puzzle!

I enjoyed it a lot, I did not encounter any of the problems other people have stated. I think the look is perfect for this type of puzzle, and the timer is great for people who know the solutions and are just trying to get the #1 score.

Overall, Nice job!

Gave your level a go earlier and found it fun and challenging, well the last couple of levels were challenging, took me good few goes to figure it out. Anyway on to the nitpicking...

I didn't like the font at the main menu. It didn't suit the level at all and looked a bit messy. You should definately change the font and make it so that "How to Play" is still visible even when not highlighted, as it just looks like "Play/Start" Can't remember) is the only option.

I got stuck a couple of times as my block kept clipping the sides of other blocks, which was annoying but not gamebreaking.

Apart from that it was a fun little game to play. Maybe adding some sort of multiplayer would be good. 2 puzzles side by side and each player has to complete their puzzle first, or something similar.

A great level - hearted even though I didn't complete it. I got a bit frustrated, partly cos the death penalty was so high (agree with fei0x), although partly cos my brain isn't working this evening. I will try again when I'm more awake, but overall thought it was a great level (very clever!!!)2011-03-28 19:09:00
