The Humvee
Archive: 6 posts
Hi all! I have been wanting to build a humvee to go along with with the tank and missile launcher from the Turbo! Pack. The only problem is . . . Well, the body style of the tank and missile launcher just don't look right with a humvee. So, I came looking for ideas about how to build the humvee, and maybe some suggestions on some cool features Icould add. | 2011-03-17 02:02:00 Author: Unknown User |
This sounds pretty cool I've been working on one myself (well sorta). I've made the actual car part of it but I haven't added a turret or anything like that yet. Maybe you could try adding a rotating gun on top (like through a sunroof) and make it be able to shoot left, up, and right. | 2011-03-17 02:04:00 Author: WoodburyRaider Posts: 1651 |
I don't know whether I would rather do the turret with a motor bolt and a lever or a wobble or normal bolt and put something like a half pipe under it to allow the player to rotate it. I think that it would be nice to put the small Turbo! tires on it, and how did you do the body? Maybe work the sunroof with a piston with a sensor switch attached? | 2011-03-17 02:10:00 Author: Unknown User |
Well a motor bolt wouldn't work since that spins all the way around so the only options would be a wobble or normal bolt. I'm probably gonna do the wobble bolt. As for the Turbo tires, I don't have any of the DLC so I don't know what they look like but personally, I like creating everything of mine from scratch and I try not to use any of the other objects. I made the body by corner edting a piece of marble material and looking at a picture of a humvee online. And yeah I think the piston and the sunroof will work perfectly you just have to make sure to get the wiring right. | 2011-03-17 02:38:00 Author: WoodburyRaider Posts: 1651 |
Yeah, the common problem that I find with pistons is that they somehow manage to change the direction in which they thrust the object attached to the end. | 2011-03-18 03:42:00 Author: Unknown User |

Ya I have that same problem all the time, I havnt realy found a way to keep that from happening so I would suggest you just keep trying at it till you get the piston just right even though it can get pretty annowing. | 2011-03-19 17:15:00 Author: aceofthorns Posts: 288 |
