Weapon Aiming

Archive: 8 posts

Does anyone know how to make aimable weapons for a sackbot like plasma blast, ect. Examples of these include megaman and iron man levels. Also, does anyone know how to make machine gun like bullets, like the one in story mode where you ride that camel?2011-03-16 03:03:00

I would guess they are using an emitter with a follow rotator (the one that looks at things), the aiming reticle is hooked up to a controllinator set to remote, nearest player or a certain controllinator, and has the tag that the follower follows. I am not sure about the range thing, perhaps four sensors on a 0% holo, with the same tag color sensor that the aiming device is, and all four hooked upto xor that stops the reticle from going outside an area...actually I am not too sure about the last part...all four directions on the thumb stick may be to four seperate movers for each direction, each with the tag sensor to turn off going out of the screen with tags on 180, and a follower in the back zone to prevent it from going out of screen...hope that kind of helps...I may have just said something completely wrong.2011-03-16 03:19:00

Your making it to complicated.

Make an invisible circle of hologram, about sackboy sized. Joystick Rotator and Emitters. Simple. Do you need a tutorial? I'm making one anyway, I can give you a link.

No I don't want to make the cursor for shooting. I just want it to shoot from a sackbot where it can aim it shots in all directions (left of it, top, righ, bottom, ect,)

So if I was to do a reticle, was it using a mover that turns off if it goes beyound a point because of a tag and a sensor set to 180? Not to highjack the topic...but now I am wondering. 2011-03-18 06:22:00
