I read that you press R1 on the section you want to sort but it doesn't work, did it change in lbp2?

Press Square on something in one of the object submenus and you can select to sort by theme, newest, color etc depending on the category. If you press square on any sticker or object in your pop it you can give it a custom category and name. Your custom categories shoot to the top, so if you want all your basic color stickers at the top, put them in a 'colors' category different than the one they're already in. You can pull all your glitches or special items in one category for example, and if you're working on a project you could put all the stickers you're going to use in a new category, and put all your objects you've made for it in one category too. It helped me alot whenever I was working on something like Alucard, Brain Ape or those tanks to put everything pertaining to it in one category since I tend to capture, reiterate and recapture the objects alot. Not a perfect system but much better than the system we didn't have before.

also if you press square on a category heading you can sort by the default groupings of newest, theme, category, and i think color.
