3D Camera Demo - 16 Way Direction Control of the Camera

I say 16 directions, but really it can be many more At the moment I'm using a selector to cycle through, so you can't quickly turn around yet. It's not really about that though, it's about the angles. I think I'm a couple of days away from one unified camera with every angle Well, every angle you want...I'm not making 360 cameras!

It's nice that the community is working on a rotating 3D camera, but what you guys shouldn't forget is that when the Local Space issue in Game Cameras in fixed, it will probably enable rotation in a flash. Why not just wait until Media Molecule fixes the Local Space issue?2011-03-15 07:22:00

Let me get this correct. If they fix Local Space, when you rotate the block the camera is on, the camera will rotate perfectly? But what if they fix it to not work at all And I don't know how that will work, in the case of this camera it's not just Local Space that makes it work. Although, I understand Local Space, it still gives me a headache I didn't think it was broken? Just that they didn't want you to look horizontally across the screen.

Anyway, I've updated this morning You can now look North, South, East and West with the D-pad and you get the camera...AND an experimental 8 way directional camera (it's a wheel with sensors basically ). The Joystick Rotator is not your friend It either, doesn't stop spinning or the second you let go of the stick, it wants to go to the next camera. So I put in a good old motor bolt

To the tutorial! And then the Batcave!

@Ballisticola: There was a time in the LBP2 beta that Local Space wasn't broken - and it was great! Yes, fluid rotation will be made possible when Media Molecule fixes the Local Space issue. I don't think they will fix the 3D cam "glitch". They didn't fix the 3D Layer Glitch either. Why would they fix something that enhances the game so much?2011-03-15 18:54:00

That slightly cuts down my tutorial to, put the camera on the side And I've made pictures and everything

I think the camera isn't smooth because the Gyros may not be fast enough, maybe. And there are speed setting...and I haven't touched them :blush: The camera turns on slightly before the gyro has steadied itself, maybe.

Anyway, I've finally finished my tutorial update, The Complete Guide...although it's not complete for some aspects...how to make all the cameras is all there I also have a secret project, that I think will be very useful
