Highest Rated Messed Up?

Archive: 5 posts

I'm not usually one to complain about this kind of thing because I realise it's all down to opinion, someone might like a level that I don't. But in this case, I'm pretty sure the Highest Rated Page is severely broken.

I don't know how they work out which level is the highest rated, but why in the world is "The Rabbit and the Wrestler episode 4." the highest rated? I'm not saying it's bad, but if you actually look at the ratings, it's not rated anywhere near as high as "CATCH A SACKBOY! [FUNNY MOVIE]", in fact it has about 30,000 less http://gyazo.com/0a51fc6b4f9825ab7a285f5ba720db73.png's.

Again, I'm not saying I personally dislike the level, I'm just saying that there are a lot of levels rated higher than "The Rabbit and the Wrestler episode 4." and should therefore be on top instead.

/Rant, just needed to get that out, sorry.

It might be done on a like/dislike ratio.

Rabbit and the Wrestler - 38.2
Catch a Sackboy - 33.3
Cause and Effect 4 - 29.8
2nd Lil' Platformer - 28.4
#con_wd_ - 31.5

Okay, so that only works for the top four...

I think an overal ratio of play/rate/hearts play a role in how it gets on top? thats what it can think of2011-03-15 11:11:00

Yep. Its all about the ratio.
My level was at number 5 on page one last month with a 26.2 ratio.
Then i got a few sad face reviews in a row and it dropped to page 2 in the blink of an eye.

It's definitely more complex than this. For a while I had a perfect ratio on my latest level... and even now after a couple of hundred plays its still > 33.3% It only made a brief appearance on highest rated, and is now gone in favor of other lower-rated levels.

It's also not heart-play or even like-play ratios either, for the same reasons I just mentioned. I'm pretty sure it's a weighted system that takes into account ratings, hearts, but most importantly frequency of plays. A highest rated level that does not accumulate regular plays will not be found on highest rated.
