I believe there is no way to prevent people from downrating any kind of level due to the huge difference among the various groups of people composing LBP2 fanbase, so don't get too worried about it. I will check your level as soon as i can and give you feedback about the sackbots.

Please return feedback to my latest shooter level : The Red Baron strikes back http://lbp.me/v/yw22sw in the related F4F thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=52800-The-Red-Baron-strikes-back).
Thanks.

I see that you've played it quite a few times, any thoughts? I'm curious which characters you tried and what you thought of it so far. I've been working on Deadpool and Hulk quite a bit and the next update should be available to play within a day or two.

I noticed that between the two threads on here (since I re-posted as a F4F) it's gotten 91 views and the only person that played it or left a comment was Vergil. Superhero Sackbots seem extremely popular, I'm a bit surprised this hasn't gotten a little more attention. I'll give it a week or so and see if I can think of anything to make it easier to find, or more intriguing.

*UPDATE 1.3: Try out multiple characters in one playthrough! New moves for Deadpool and The Hulk! The respawn system will be streamlined soon so it doesn't actually kill you, but I spent the day making sure every character could be played without restarting the level (barring any technical hiccups). Just to clarify, this isn't a versus stage, I just used the competitive setting so everyone playing would have their own camera. More updates soon!2011-03-15 11:56:00

I tried some of your Sackbots yesterday and i was really really impressed .

Apart from the look (you used the official costumes) i really liked the impressive work that went into each of them: the ones that impressed me the most were Spiderman and Captain America: Spiderman had a bit of everything, and i really like the web swinging even though it glitched a bit when i used it because i could make a full circle in the air . I also extremely liked how you used the MVC3 moveset into your Cap sackbot with shield toss, shield charge and so on. If you ever plan to make a level about one of those two sackbots warn me because i'll be checking them asap.

The other sackbots were not as good as the first two but still showed great work: Hulk had a great attack with a nice animation and effects, Deadpool had that cool teleport but i believe the sword slashes should be bigger and he also needs guns, the Human torch was also very nice.

The only ones i didn't like were punisher and wolverine: For Punisher i believe that maybe having a custom gun insted of the paintinator would improve the look, while i fear wolverine is glitched because neither of the two attacks listed generated any visual effect.

Overall i believe you did an exceptional work and it's sad that your level is overlooked while other super-simple sackbot demonstration get thousands of plays. (Some weeks ago i saw a human torch sackbot demo on the cool pages, and that sackbot was far worse than your human torch).

I'll be definetely check the level again to try other sackbots . Please try the level i listed above and give me some feedback in my thread.

This is looking great so far - the special moves were nicely done (especially 'Storm' and 'Spiderman&apos and very much reminded me of Smash Bros. Would I be right in thinking you intend to make some kind of fighting game or arcade beat-em-up with these? I really hope you are

I shall encourage others to give this a try!

I wasn't really planning on making a Smash Bros. type stage, but it might be easy to do while I work on the adventure stage I'm planning. The only issue would be the thermometer, each character would need every chip I used for the enemy that's in the stage, and they would all have to be customized to work with playable characters... and then there's life bars.

I'll be playing your F4F stages a little later, the TV is under the control of a 4 year old at the moment.

What ^he^ said. Different people just like different things, and even if you don't like something it's often difficult to express exactly why. In the end we've just gotta accept this an move on *shrug*

Anyway. Yes. I'm a sucker for marvel stuff so I'll queue this for later (well, tommorow if I'm being honest)

Apart from the look (you used the official costumes)

Was this a negative? A few of the costumes are customs that I made. I was expecting someone to say that the costumes weren't up to date enough since I tried to stick with the early 90's look of each character since I'm 31 and have a soft spot in my heart for the Jim Lee era of the X-Men.

That's not a negative just an observation. BTW i tried the updated Deadpool yesterday and it was quite amazing.

Did you notice the idle "animations"? By the way, I'll be trying your stage in a minute, sorry for the delay.2011-03-16 09:37:00

2.0 is now available!

1. The Hulk now has "Thunder Clap".
2. New alternate costume for Spider-man.
3. Bigger level. More enemies. More scenery.
4. Many updates to moves. They may not be obvious, but the controls should be tighter for most characters.
5. Controller prompts updated, if I saw an error or something that was too vague it's been fixed.
6. Camera pulled back slightly.
7. You can now exit a Sackbot without dying.

I really wanted more for this update, but a few of my plans fell apart. With the issues I've run into Mystique may never be playable, and some visual flare may not be possible with other characters.

I hope everyone enjoys the update, people on this site and in-game have been very kind so far. I look forward to some feedback and I'll play/ review whatever F4F is thrown my way.

edit: Found a couple bugs with the enemy reactions. I fixed one and I'm still working on the other, nothing worthy of a version number update yet today, but I plan to have a few new surprises soon.

Update 2.5 now available!

1. Spider-Man 2099 costume for Spidey.
2. Joe Fixit costume for The Hulk.
3. New animation for Deadpool's teleport. He apparently went through a few teleportation devices in the comics, I just tried to mix the looks.
4. "New" magnetized gears move for Magneto. This move was already available but was attached to a selector with two empty emitters and didn't have a prompt.
5. Fixed a few bugs with the enemies. I'm still working on making the Hulks moves throw the character in the right direction every time, and sometimes the enemy floats after a Hulk move...
6. It should now be impossible to select a character or one of their alternate costumes if the character is already emitted. Bad things happen when two of the same are near each other... something to do with occupying the same area in time and space, there are paradoxes and wormholes, it's not very pretty.

I never post all the info in-game, but you guys get the whole story. I hope everyone is enjoying the stage, I'm getting positive feedback but no one is suggesting anything.

It may be a few days before another update, but if anyone sees anything major that I've overlooked, please let me know.

Are you planning to create a smash-like level with them or something different? Because i believe some of them are good enough to have an entire level based around them. Obviously creating a level around specific abilities can be even more troublesome than creating said abilities for the sackbots, but the result could be impressive with some of them (like Cap, Hulk or Spiderman).2011-03-21 12:27:00

I'm actually planning to make an adventure series out of it where you can select your characters from whoever I end up finishing, but judging from the thermometer in the demo I'm going to have to come up with a way for it to work properly. You're right though, building areas that keep the characters contained while still letting you have fun with super powers is going to be very difficult. I already know that the teleporting characters and The Human Torch's flight speed will have to be toned down at least a little bit. My next update is probably still a day or two off, but I plan to have more moves for Wolverine, and playable Ironman and War Machine... Possibly more if I have any amazing ideas between now and then. The next update should also have character specific tutorials built into each Sackbot, which will be cycled through with the D pad, giving you tips and detailing combo attacks I've hidden so far.2011-03-22 07:33:00

Do ya got Batman or Green lantern? queued.

Hehe, I've kind of got my hands full with all the Marvel characters I want to do right now, but that doesn't mean I won't ever make some DC characters. I grew up reading Marvel and they have a much larger roster of characters I actually care about. Let me know what you think so far though, feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hi rotting house, wow you clever CLEVER fellow you. I can't remember the last time I hearted a level I can't believe the choice of characters and all the powers they have, heheh, I so enjoyed playing around with the characters! Am wondering how hard it would be to use the selection screen as a sub level, then enter a main game still with the same character equiped? If you can make a level using these well, with some interesting bosses, you are gonna be on the mm pick list fa sure dude!!! So happy to have played two good levels in a row, fingers crossed for a third!

If you can F4F my level 'House of the flying diggers boss fight' I'd apreciate it

Shade.

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, it makes me happy to see my hard work pay off. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how to choose characters with the least thermo possible. I've got some big updates for Wolverine coming soon, and I'm adding better functionality to almost every character, the problem is some of the new logic is conflicting with the original builds. I want to be able to add animations to more of the moves, along with the ability to do moves without having to press a direction at the same time. I just queued your stage, I'll play it tomorrow, I've been awake over 24 hours and I don't think I'd write a very in depth review at the moment.2011-03-23 22:16:00

Update 3.0 is published and ready to play!

1. Four new moves for Wolverine. Tornado Claw, Claw Dive, Feral Senses, and the ability to climb walls.
2. Four new alternate costumes for Wolverine. Brown and Tan, X-Force, Weapon X, and Logan.
3. Nightcrawler can now climb walls. ( I also noticed and corrected a mistake in his last costume, the poor guy didn't have his tail )
4. Psylocke has a new move. "Ninjutsu Dash". She wasn't mobile enough for my liking so I made a variation of a move from her Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 move set.
5. Character specific tutorials, tips, and creator notes can now be cycled through with the D-pad.

As always, feedback is very welcome. Sorry it took so long for the update, I hope everyone enjoys the new features.

Ridiculous amounts of work here. Shame your profile got messed up. Really want to see where this goes. In regards to plays versus the OMG IRRN MANG FYEING stages I think it is because of load times. It took quiet a while to load this stage, and if I didn't read on here how good it was I don't think I could have stuck it out. Limiting selection to a few in the final would be your best bet. Or staggering them over some level links and through plot... but who to choose. We all have our favourites.

Mind blowing what you have done really you DO need the 90's cartoon X-Men theme in there also. I agree about what you say about Jubilee, love her but a background cameo is the best thing she for her, run in and shoot that very well built firework to blind someone!

Also no Colossus that I could see (I may have missed him as I was a little overwhelmed by the choices), so who is going to Fastball Wolvie? I guess the Hulk but... Try a stickered up Zangief maybe?

On to Wolverine, I feel his tornado claw is a little too high, most other criticisms I have you already have noted in the great use of speech bubbles, very interesting/director commentary!

Iceman is pretty awesome but his ice bridge could also be used flat. Have him skate along with an ice trail behind... I'm sure you have put some thought into that already and judging by what else you have done I don't doubt your skills. The spinning ice shard floats a little high for my liking.

I managed to crush Magneto with the boxes I was moving, maybe put some tags/flee on his shield attached to moves on the boxes?

As you say nightcrawler's teleport is a little long, not sure if you played a game in the 90's on genesis but it had a great rendition of Nightcrawlers teleport in it where it was more of a stream. Similar to your Captin America Shield Toss. This stage has a pretty good version of how far he could jump.... http://lbp.me/v/zkkpzz He is missing his acrobatics though try and get his jumps higher with a flip in there as well.

I think part of the reason not much people have heard about it is because it's extremely hard to find >_<

A search containing "Marvel Sackbots" or "Marvel Tech Demo" turn up ZERO results in LBP2.
(Which I find extremely odd)

You need to find a way to publicize your level... because, after all, the potential is there. All you need is an audience.
