Any way to tweak an object to sink or float in water?

Archive: 6 posts

I still havent completly figured out all the new tools on LBP2 yet, and i have tried and tried, but is there anyway to make an object or material sink if it normally floats in water, and vice versa. And if there isnt some way to tweak that there really should be some object tweaker made. lol 2011-03-14 01:32:00

I thought the material tweaker had a setting for this.

Perhaps I'm wrong.

Either way - another thing you could try is gravity settings.

There's a tweak on the gravity tweaker or the material tweaker (I'm pretty sure it's the gravity one, though) that says "zero bouyancy" or something like that. I believe that setting makes the object completely neutral in water so it neither sinks nor floats. Once you've added that, you can make it sink with weights (bolted or otherwise attached, but not glued, 'cuz glue would cause the neutral bouyancy to apply to the weights too) or rise with floats (bits or cardboard or something).2011-03-14 01:42:00

Might be easiest to just fake it with movers.2011-03-14 15:31:00

True, but I do remember someone describing their system where they emitted either the floatable or sinkable material inside of their object depending on what they wanted their object to do. Their reason was that they didn't want to have to implement the logic to keep it from rising above the water line and they wanted the object capable of being "pushed" around by a sackboy.

Thanks for all the help, i didnt think to attach bolts or wheights. i did use the gravity tweaker and it just sat there and i did make the mistake of gluing the wheight to it. so ill try using bolts or a string. thanks for your help guys2011-03-14 16:42:00
