Theck. It's always been more useful and aesthetically sound to me, personally, than the extra layers.2011-03-13 20:33:00

Well, its not a glitch that I can really explain (cus its kinda complicated) but here's a pic:

I like the extra layers glitches. Theck, Thack, and the fore and background layers. Second would be the compression glitch. I use these the most probably when I'm making things. Especially Theck and Thack. They allow you to fit things into one thick layer which is nice.2011-03-13 20:55:00

This. Most of my levels use theck in some way. For some reason I find an "in-between" thickness glitch is much more useful than extra layers. Probably because it's adding extra possibilities within the layer range we already have rather than extending the layer range further.

Invisibible dark matter is, now that we have LBP2, my least favourite glitch. It was useful in LBP1 for supporting objects without the dakr matter being visible, but we can use gravity tweakers for that now. The only other main use for it is blocking things, which I hate. If you need to stop the player from going somewhere invisible walls is one of the most annoying things you can do. There are so many better alternatives (such as walls, for example).

Theck and thack for me too. I can't believe you didn't include that on the poll.

Also I don't know about some of the ones you listed. What's the difference between the 3d layer glitch and the 3d glitch? Also, why does everybody call it 3d glitch? Its original name and the name one of the Mm guys used when referring to it back then was the "50 layer glitch" or just "layer glitch." It's a much more descriptive and accurate name since, technically, everything is 3d already. And what's the "safe hazard" glitch?

Probably the layer glitch and then that new camera glitch...

I'd say my favorite glitch is the layer glitch, I actually don't really like a lot of glitches in general, but the layer glitch is certainly the one I use the most.

I think they mean the camera that makes it look like you have extra layers, but you're not using that glitch.

Personally, I like the glitch skins this round. Peach Fuzz and Diamond Lattice!

Invisible materials is my favourite. At least is LBP1. Now that I think about it, I can replace that invisible dissolve with holo...doh.
I don't like using extra layers. Half the challenge of building a level is to make it work with the layers we have now. Everyone else is just cheating.

I only use the extra layers for that one little "oops! I meant to have a bit of decoration back there, but now the back layer's full!" object I have in all of my levels.

I absolutely love Theck and Thack, even though their use is a bit more limited now, unless you want people to be unable to complete your level due to that new ThecXmen glitch...

That new 3D-Object Rotating glitch is pretty interesting, too. I have some uses already for some glitched gears, etc...

The worst were the wheel of death (obviously), Negativitron freeze (LOST MY ACE), and the costume glitch (people thought I was some glitching noob, because I wear the bug blaster gloves!).

Yea, theck will let you create depth that has no collision- perfect for trees that should be for scenery, and don't have to be stepped around or that you can get caught on etc, objects to just the right width (nothing is worse imo than "fat" lightening bolts as of late), and there's simply nothing better for creating moving, multijointed limbs and segmented objects for me; bicep theck, elbow thin, forearm theck etc - plus you can just layer up any room to make it eye popping and intricate. decorations in just the right spot... Gotta love it for making characters too, just by alternating your widths... it's the most practical to me, has a million uses, and can't be used excessively. i still use the same set tradersam made.

i think now it has alot of untapped potential with impact switches, same layer player/tag sensors, and in-out movers too. i was really happy when I saw I could have a theck layer push sackboy while he was in front of it.

lol invisible dark matter... what a throwback. i remember playing those 'invisible levels' in that first month and not even knowing everything we could do with dark matter yet. r.i.p. dark matter

The god glitch. That was so awesome. One time, I used it to steal this kid's dual shock controller right out of his hands. Then I deleted his mum.

Happy days...

Invisible dark matter was always my favourite I actually utilised it in levels by placing it over the occassional hazard and put score bubbles there to see if people would actually collect them. It was quite useful in that way but agree with the walls that is annoying invisible walls when in actual fact a wall would be so much more effective.
I disagree with the 3D glitch because I have no idea how that is made and most likely highly complicated to actually do not to mention that so many people don't know how to do, so the way I feel is that people using those glitches in particularly are in fact having an unfair advantage over level creation with being able to do so much more than what the game is intended for.

Well, the game was originally built to have those layers in it (according to Mm) (http://www.mediamolecule.com/about/history/pt4/). People just found a way to bring back an old feature. It just increases creativity, and it doesn't really hurt anyone because if you can go online and see levels that use it, then you obviously can go into a level that offers up the tool. It's equal for all players and doesn't break anything, so I see no problem.

I meant to comment on this earlier, but forgot.

I also hate when people use invisible DM to block off an area with an invisible wall, but it can still be useful.

Say, if it's possible to corner jump up to the top of the cliff to the left of your spawn point, a little bit of invisible matter there at an angle that JUST cuts off the player's jump won't hurt anyone. The trick is to place it stealthily, so that people don't realize they're being stopped by an invisible wall. What they don't know doesn't hurt them. Unless they spend hours trying to get up there.

Pretty much this. Sometimes I have an ornamental ceiling but I need it to have the properties of a smooth, flat ceiling so floating things don't get caught in a crevice. Also, ornamental, spiky walls that aren't supposed to be dangerous can kill sackboys that run in, so I plug up the parts where they can enter and squeeze themselves to death.

There are also some places where I extend a landing zone over an area where the angle of the surface won't allow a normal running landing. I could corner edit the shape of the landing area block, but there are times when I don't want to mess with blocks for aesthetic reasons.

Holding a sackbot in place with invisible dark matter is an easy, quick and dirty solution to kludging up a wait behavior into existing logic when it's only going to be in the waiting state once.
