Quietly in awe...

Archive: 5 posts

Put simply, I'm quietly in awe of LBP2. Actually, scratch that - I'm quite noisily in awe of it to anyone and everyone who'll listen to me for more than a few second on the subject. I always liked LBP1 but never really clicked with creating full levels (apart from a rather natty rocket-based lunar lander game - I've got a thing for Retro ), but I find the tools that are on offer in LBP2 are simply staggering! The applications of microchips & logic is mindblowing - I've just published a retro racing level that not only has AI racers (well, a lot more "A" than "I" if I'm being honest), but also has a full track editor to completely design new courses from scratch in-level. I'm absolutely astounded that a commercial console game will let me do things like that!!

Anyhoo, thought I'd join the community and see what the Geniuses of the Craftworld get up to, and hopefully get some inspiration. Great to be here

LOL - Steady on, mate. The level actually started off as a tool for quickly prototyping Pac-Man mazes as it happens, then sort of grew from there. Well, "spread" may be a better word for it. Or, er, congealed. There's still a fair amount of work to be done on the CPU cars, but I didn't seem to be able to find a level that let you make and race on your own track designs, so thought I may as well chock one out.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome.
