Homocidal Sackbot Help

I am currently looking for ways to make my sackbots kill my player character. I am trying to do a sword slash, and a ninja star thrown projectile, aimed at my player character. Can someone tell me how this is done?2011-03-11 09:37:00

Surely you meant to write 'homicidal' - two 'i' not two 'o' - or are you trying to weed out sackboys who prefer sackboys?

(On topic, and with little to no expertise with sackbots, mind you, I guess you'd have to record the appropriate movements, slashing and throwing, and make the bots execute them once they are near your player. Add an emitter for thrown projectiles and basic lethality on the bot itself for the sword slash.)

I wouldn't know about sackbots, but I could make a regular abomination from the bits and bobs sections throw stuff at you with a look at rotator & an emitter on its arm, the rotator moves the arm & emitter throws a star (also from bits and bobs). Rotators don't work on individual sackbot limbs, so I guess that with each emitted star, it gets thrown the same way each time.

For slashing/throwing, act, or make an animation (search 'knight tutorial' for more info on that) & emit a lethal box, or just keep the weapon in its hand.
You can try to make a little ninja with classic tools (usual stuff in original LBP), it'll probably get more attention, & IMO, easier to make than a bot.

Yeah sorry, I don't want my bot to discriminate I just want it to kill everything. That was a typo, also I suckz at the spellings. But yeah my idea is to have a follower on a hollow with 2 player sensors on that then I have a hook for each direction, and which ever player sensor is activated thats what direction projectile it emits. Also I am trying to get the awareness only last for a ten seconds.2011-03-11 20:23:00

You could attach some holo matter to the projectiles that covers all three layers (Unless you only want it on one layer) and lethalize it. Turn the brightness all the way down so it's invisible.2011-03-11 21:33:00

Ok so I made a bot that throws projectiles in either direction, and it works great. When you trigger hit alert mode he will throw projectiles at you if you are on either side of him. Now I need to make one with a sword slash so I used the same bot but he kills himself when making the slash, because it isn't a projectile, I have tried to solve this with a follower, or a mover but it doesn't seem to work. For the sword slash you could use a "slash shaped" lethalized holo with no lethal sounds. I would suggest eletricity. Btw, you could eletrify the bot too, so you can't touch it (I suppose that isn't an issue) and it becomes immune to its own attack.2011-03-12 00:00:00

For awareness radius both left and right, take two player sensors (one facing left on the left side & vice versa) on the root of the sackbot chip, & then set the emitter from there to on/off, edit how he throws it by tweaking the trajectory & force of it, and duplicate the emitter & do it again on the other side.2011-03-12 00:09:00

Thanx guys, hopefully I can put this stuff into practice, I'm almost done with my level I just need to finish the sword bot, and I want to get an old man bot that hits you in the head with a non-lethal shovel repeatedly but Im trying to figure that out.2011-03-12 21:51:00
