Multiple (hopefully easy) Questions

Lets get the party started Question 1: How do I make the scoreboard different materials? I can change the front pad but the screen part will never change. Question 2: Is there a way to make a hologram grow in brightness over time? I am hanging stars and I want them to come out at night, so I want them to start out at 0% then progressively go from 0-90% in increments of 1 over a set time, and triggered by a player sensor. | 2011-03-11 05:10:00 Author: Gutz Posts: 175 |
Dunno about 1, but 2 is easy. Set the holo material to input mode of dimmer, then hook it up to a timer. Hook the player sensor up to the timers input. Then the stars will grow brighter over the duration of the timer. Just set the "on" holo brightness to 90% to get the 0-90% part. | 2011-03-11 05:27:00 Author: Tygers Posts: 114 |
Question 1 is impossible. | 2011-03-11 05:31:00 Author: Devious_Oatmeal Posts: 1799 |
Question 1: How do I make the scoreboard different materials? I can change the front pad but the screen part will never change. You can't use the material changer on it to my knowledge. (Not that Ive spent a lot of time on it.) However you several options. I recently discovered that in lbp2 that the tweak menu for scoreboards & checkpoints has a material selection. (near the bottom if I remember right.) Its not very robust in its selection,so it cant really be anything but its a good place to start in case one suits your needs. Alternatively you can do the obvious:take a picture of a material & sticker it. Or lastly you If you have a theck(or thack im not sure which) glitch material,I'm fairly sure you could overlay a material pretty closely ( & still have it look thin) but then you'll have to actually edit it into the shape you want & if you have lots of other materials near-by it could be a hassle. | 2011-03-11 09:23:00 Author: Unknown User |
Another alternative for question 2 is setting different holos to either a selector or sequencer and having them over lap with different brightnesses. The dimmer option is easier, and more practil for simple application. But selector or sequencor method offers more variety of option to customize visual appeal exactly how you want. | 2011-03-11 16:05:00 Author: Shadow_Wolf_1987 Posts: 108 |
