I've had this happening to me once. The way I see it, you got 2 options; The first option, which worked fine for me because my moon "level" is just a tests field basically, is to simply delete it and replace everything back D: The other option is to buy the monster kit, so you will have the items your friend used on his costume.
I've no idea how to contact MM though, and the choices I see aren't really the best <_< so I'd wait and see if somebody else has a better solution.

Yeah this has come up a few times. You have a few options.

Buy the monster pack costumes. Or you can get together with some one who has the monster costumes. Upload the level and make it copyable. Let your friend copy it to their moon. They can then go in and change the settings on the sackbot in question. They can then upload a copyable version and you can get it back. It's not an ideal solution but it'll work.

Add me,, publish the level locked and copyable, send me the key, and I'll delete the sackbot/ reset the costume, re-publish it locked and copyable, and send you back the key, that should solve it.

I've tried doing it locked and copyable before...I don't think it ended up working out. I'm hoping that mm might just give me the monster pack at this point.

oh and on a side note....when I go in to play it...the darnd sackbot looks like me...there is literally nothing in my level from the monster level.

That means they or any friend of yours who has your level can either delete the sackbot or change it's costume Both should do!

Yeah, really, MM needs to patch this REALLY soon - or give people the level kits.

This sometimes gets me upset with MM - when they know there is an issue like this that breaks people's levels and don't communicate with us about it. I.E. warning us, and giving us a heads up that they are working on it and/or fixes.

Anyway, hope you figure out a way to get your level back. Publish it locked and let someone with the Monster Kit delete the sticker or reset the costume and then give your level back to you. That should fix it - they don't need to delete the sackbot or the AI.

what happened is the saved costume is preventing editing. Get your friend to go in with a default sackboy, and enter the sackbot. that should reset the costume and let you edit it again. You may have to do like others have said, and publish it locked and send him the key.

If your friend isn't available to help, then go with Silverleon on this. Trust me, I had the same problem in the beta (but because Mm gave me free DLC and I thought we were actually supposed to use it to test backward compatability issues) and had to get someone kind enough to do the same for me. Silverleon is suggesting he do one or the other. Just ask him to reset the bot's costume rather than delete the bot if you don't want to loose all your logic work on it. Also, I'd do a quick backup before hand just to be safe in case something weird happens. Good luck.2011-03-11 02:48:00

Yeah, I ended up buying a marvel costume pack thanks to that crap. Cost me 6 dollars it did, and I don't even use it...I just didn't want to lose my level. This is also why I now make three or four copies of the same level on my own moon. That way, if one gets corrupted I have several backups :-). Kind of like constantly saving your progress in Microsoft Word, you know, for the unlikely happenchance that your computer reboots itself randomly and destroys all your documents you were working on. I can "one up you" on that my friend! The costume pack I had accidentally been given and used in the beta was one of the Animals pack. I threw the Shark costume head piece on a bot in my level to test out as a weird creature in silhouette behind some glass in the background. That's what prevented me from editing my level further. I had 2 kind creators offer to help me get rid of the bot, but due to not having all the DLC I had in the level they couldn't do it for me.

I was basically forced to buy the Animals pack it came from if I wanted to work further on the level... which I stupidly did. The worst part was that even after purchasing the actual pack it came from and wasting my money on the ugliest and most useless costume pack ever sold... I STILL couldn't edit the level.

Talk about wasing my money... I don't know that I'll ever even use any of those costumes to be honest. I'm almost tempted to make one of those horrible levels filled with useless garbage as prizes and throw a few dozen sackbots with the shark costume on it running around on fire or something... just to feel like I somehow got my moneys worth.

If they were going to patch it, I think they would have to make it to where the costume couldn't be used at all while in create with other players that don't have the same costume. Otherwise people could just share DLC without paying for it. Maybe a warning, like the warning when you try to put a created item with DLC the others don't own, in the level.2011-03-11 05:08:00

@Bukkit:
Come on, its not that bad, I use it plenty, you just have to sticker it a little.

@OP:
I did offer to fix it for you for free...
Don't know why you wouldn't accept, I've done this plenty times for friends already, so I know for a fact it does work.

Oh well, at least now you have more costumes, that's good too, remember, that the original costume pieces don;t look good, doesn't mean you can't make them look good.

Either buy it or get your friend to reset it, the pack itself's pretty useful though.
Comes with one IntMusic, a background, a few materials & bits & bobs, and tons of stickers to pile up and never look at again

Either get your friend back or buy the kit. Worth a buy. In my opinion.2011-03-11 17:37:00

There is already a thread about this here https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=50936-Help!-Can-t-edit-my-level!&p=787526#post787526 and I also posted a useful link into to a site where MM have acknowledged the issue
It is a problem if you tell people what DLC was used in your level someone could go in and edit it out for you, alterantively you could by the monster pack, I have both monster level pack and costume pack and I find them both equally useful but it's your money and your choice, don't feel forced to spend it
Since MM have acknowledged the problem I would presume that they will eventually find a way to fix this

I'd be happy to do it for you either. My PSN is Chicago51. If you're still unsure about it, you can even do all the changes yourself. The only thing you really need another person for is to give you a temporary loan of a space on their moon. I have the monster costumes. All you have to do is decide when you want to do it. It should only take a few minutes to sort out.2011-03-12 15:28:00

I normally back up a level when I edit it some (but not every time. I do it when I drasticly change something)2011-03-12 15:37:00

Thank you to all who helped with this sticky situation of a mess. I have now fixed the issue and will be making sure that anybody that comes into my levels from now on in create mode are not wearing any dlc. lol2011-03-16 20:15:00
