Digital Display that doesnt go over 360

Archive: 5 posts

Is there a way to make a digital display max out at 360. When it is at the number 360 if I input +1 it resets back to 000
OR
When it is at 000 and I input -1 it goes to the number 360.

Currently I am using Tdarb's Display (Thanks Tdarb)

Sure, it can be done. It's been a while since I've messed with that counter, so I would have to look to it to be sure.

you should be able to just move the selector outputs from the highest number you need to where the 9 outputs are now, not including the ones on the OR gates that activate the display. There are a few outputs from the 8 selection that you would need to switch over to being fed by the second highest you need (don't forget to count 0. to go to 3, you need 4 outputs). Then just shorten the selector to the proper length.

That should do it if I remember correctly, if not just reply here or shoot me a message and I'll give it a look.

I assume you're using Selectors to cycle through the numbers?

Do you have a selector to each single digit (0-9)?

If so, simply take out an AND gate and wire the ports on the selector that display 3-6-0 to that AND gate. Then, wire the AND gate to the ports on the selector (on the bottom of the selector) that display 0.

I would be more helpful if you explained how the display is set-up.

For making the numbers go backwards would probably require a special set-up.

Remove numbers 7, 8 and 9 from the display and selector (have a 7 input/output selector) for the middle digit and remove the numbers 4 through 9 on the left most digit (a 4 way selector).2011-03-11 02:29:00

I apologize for not stating that Itried exactly that. (couldn't word it properly to make sense. So I just decided to not state what I have tried, to not make myself look stupid. I am not good at communication skills)

when I go from 000 to 360 By inputing the signals from an and gate to the 3,6, and 0 it directly goes to 370.
Then I realized, that if I wire the inputs to 3,5, and 0 it goes to 350.and then corrects itself to 360.

But the 360 to 000 works as expected.

Using the above method only works if you tap the left or right on the D-pad. But that is slow and annoying to have tap it 180 times to go from 000 to 180 or 360 to 180.

So I would prefer to be able to just limit the number to 360 and 000. And use a pulser fed into itself through an and gate to trigger the +- to the display.

Tdarb, I will try that and return with the results as soon as possible.

Thanks everybody
