Versus Challenge: Wheel of Doom!

Archive: 4 posts

A quick three minute versus challenge on a spinning wheel that becomes faster and faster!
Collect more points than your opponent and try not to die as much as they do.
More hazards appear as time runs out, and grabinators & jump pads are thrown into the mix to make it is a manic and fun as possible. The more players the better for the best experience on this level, although admittedly I haven't played with four players yet so any feedback on how it plays with four would be most useful.

My thanks to sevenisacanibal for the music.
Any feedback on how to make the level more fun will be much appreciated.

It's easy to get stopped by the bounce pads once the wheel picks up speed. I'd prefer the pads either not protrude so much or the wheel to not spin so fast or even better, both at the same time. I personally try to avoid playing levels with large sections spinning quickly since they give me headaches.

A lot of the challenge comes from the fact that the wheel is spinning faster than the sackboy can run, but it's not that interesting after a while to be sliding down the side of a hamster wheel and hitting the bouncepad on occasion or getting caught on either the edge of basically 3 different things: a piece of protruding flaming material, a bounce pad, or a grabinator dispenser.

One of the last perils is the wheel developing holes where sackboys can fall out. These holes should be made more noticeable.

I think the level would be much more interesting if you made the wheel bigger, slowed it down below the speed of a sackboy running at full speed, and randomly generated increasingly more difficult obstacles attached to the inside of the wheel.
