HI THERE! played your level

+++:
- finally someone who is using the echo level tweek option - fit prette well here!
- nice hidden points
- ah i see some "glitch" glow matierlal (on of the rare glitches i like )

---:
- 80% of the people will get stuck in front of the water - it is way to difficult to even reach the water. try remove this issue there. it just blocks you letting you through... it tooks me i guess 15 different kinds of jumps till i managed to get to the water (it got to somthing to do with the fact that you change layers automatically when you got a higher plattform to reach in the background)
- to less light in the water: i don't saw the spikes first ( but it's maybe my older tv)
- i was not able to finish the level. got stuck in the first bigger underwater room with air. i searched something to go further but nothing there, i found the way up but the way stopped... dunno where to go... help?

tipps:
- you seem to don't testplay your own levels. you should.

rating:
- no rating, cause i was not able to finish, (will review again if you update it working! let me know as a PM on the forum!)

F4F:
- skunk bunny adventures (link is in my signature) thank you!

ok. yup my bad on that little block infront of water. sorry guys.
ok so i'll throw out the 1 and only tip here seen as its come up couple of times....

at start of water theres a secret tunnel above you jump up and head left to first switch thengo back into water.
The spikes are intentionaly hard to see.....then just b4 the main underwater roomlook up..theres an open shaft leading up to the SECOND swith NEEDED to open the way further. i would suggest getting air b4 heading up there tho. theres air in the main chaimber.
ok so gimmie like 10 min...i'll remove that silly block b4 water then re-publish

Thanks for the feedback so far tho guys.....awsome.

EDIT: ok block fixed, level tested all working on my end guys

to mine:
i saw you rated my level as boo. on lbp.me. which is fine. but:

well you don't need to play it if you don't want. just send me a short note plz to let me know what you don't liked on it.
so i can work on the issue
that would be enogh! thanks

EDIT: ok i saw your reply on my profile now that the level was blocked as you played it. i understand!
well... nope it is not blocked. (i tested it just a minute ago) that was maybe your internet connection if it was offline in the moment it loaded the level link than it is closed. or if the PSN network had a error or something. BUT no fear i got help! level 1 got level skip in menu! (would be nice if you remove the boo thanks!)

ok guys for any1 reading this thread,

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just b4 you jump in the water there is a "secret" entrance above your head jump up and follow through to the left to find switch number one...YAY!!! one more to go.

Then when you are swimming left through the tunnel there is a shaft above your head just before you enter the main underwater camber with the large mural on the back wall. I recommend getting air from the bubbles in the main chamber before you head up that shaft . Follow it up anf to the left and you will find...TADDAAA!! switch number two. The way is now open to proceed through the main underwater chamber.

Last tip. When you ascend the shaft ontop of the statue of Dagon take something light (not heavy) up there with you to throw at the sheet of glass .

Cool good luck and have fun everybody. Thanks again for all feedback and help from the peeps here at this site, all your comments and help are Helpfull and help me to be a better creater.

btw i rehearted you now.

back to topic:

ok with a lot trouble i finally found the first switch.
i must say... this is unfair. i nver - i repead never expected to go up there.
you "must" give a hint ingame. and you "must" do that cause this will cause a lot of boo's if they get stuck. i know how childrens act. remember that.

idea: why don't you do 3 switches? if you go to the right when you could go to the water. there is a secret road too. dd a visibile switch room there which opens the way up to the 2nd (first first) switch. you DID a camera hint but thats way to late now (after the first first 2nd switch)

on the normal second switch in water it was kinda very very close calculated with air.
do a cam showing the door getting open

connect your checkpoints with player sensores. so they don't need to make sure to jump around till it activates
found the secret checkpoint place with the points... now i thought again that i'm stuck...

hm i am stuck. how to get further than the first checkpoint underwater?

whoah!!! hey dude, thats it!! seriously i love it .im gunna head off in a mo and do exactly that.
It solves a lot of the "getting Lost" problems and at the same time dosnt entirely compromise the lighting or 'exploration of the level.
Nice one man +1 hearts.
Thats the kinda feedback i like.

When in the room with points and green lighting there is a switch flick it and it shows a camera prompt to another "secret" door opening and how to get there ( basicaly return to the start...collect grabinators then go to the table with the two rocks on it.

Hey ghostdogg,

I led a three-Sack expedition into Dagons Respite and we all wanted to hang ourselves -- but in a good way!

Honestly, the level looked (and sounded) so good that we kept trying and trying and trying, even though it was so mind-numbingly difficult. It may be intentional, but I think a <10% completion rate means that you could give players a hand. The theme was well adhered to (is that history level kit stuff? I WANTS IT NOW.) and was, again, gorgeous.

The entrance wasn't infinite-lives (can entrances be infinite lives?) but was followed by a pretty-difficult platforming section. We game-overed once and only made it to the first checkpoint on our second playthrough.

The fireball-spikes mania was challenging, on the other hand, but in a fair way. Passing the last jump required following the pattern of fireballs, so it gave a great sense of satisfaction to pass and high-fives went all around.

The statue puzzle was more frustrating. First of all, leaving the gloves back on the other side of spike-fireball-land meant for us, two players watched while I tried to manhandle the objects upstairs (we tried and got both to go up, by the way). I would much rather have the gloves-room hold just a switch to spawn gloves in the statue-room. Second of all, it was highly possible to throw either or both objects onto the spikes, making it necessary to sacrifice oneself to throw it back out. We were near tears the first time it happened because it took (us) so long to get there and we weren't sure we could throw the object out before the spikes killed us.

Then, we got the water level to rise and were stuck in the twin rooms above the statue. We had the green object thrown into the left room and the red object thrown into the right room, but nothing seemed to happen...so we were forced to quit.

Definitely a bittersweet experience. The extreme difficulty made the "exploration" feel genuine and the successes more glorious, but getting stuck at the end like that was frustrating. I would focus on making the level less breakable (preventing the objects from getting onto spikes comes to mind) and then maybe subtly more obvious.

I'd like to echo pretty much everything Fobstar said. My solo playthrough was very similar, but I gave up on the statue. The first time I activated it, I had no idea what I did, but I was trying to hit the thing that looked like a button. Second time, I realized it was a button and thought that I had activated it, but it takes a second to start, so I missed the ride up a second time. Third attempt, I go up, get confused, go back down. Fourth time, figure out I should bring up the stones. Fifth and sixth times, fail to get the stones anywhere. Seventh time, threw the red stone in the room with the vase. Nothing happened. The level wasn't giving me feedback, so I had to leave.

I probably spent another 10 minutes in the gauntlet of spikes and fire, and one extra checkpoint at the end would not have made the gauntlet itself any easier. Difficulty is one thing, but certain design elements can make levels themselves seem hostile to the people who are trying to play. As is, this is the Demon's Souls of LBP. Everything looks great, but the level is unenjoyable if it doesn't communicate with the player, makes them repeat difficult sections, or makes them wait for long periods because they weren't standing on the right platform at the right moment.

The entrance wasn't infinite-lives (can entrances be infinite lives?)
No, but there are lots of ways to do smoke and mirrors and have an infinite checkpoint at the start of a level.
