thanks. i've added one of yours to start off with.

i just want to point out that i'm not doing P4P, H4H or F4F or anything. i just tend to add people's levels to my queue out of general courtesy (and so i can play some good levels).

Played it, and I must say I was impressed. I hope more people start playing this soon.

It's visually well made (lighting, layout, etc). The level felt very underworld-ish. I think you pulled off those elements very well. Even better were some of the puzzles. But the best thing about this level is the steady supply of surprises around every corner (inverting carts, platforms breaking apart piece by piece, hidden bubbles, etc).

Now, due to the difficulty, this level won't be for everyone and the popularity will be impacted, but I implore you to keep the difficult elements and puzzles. A think the level is better off difficult, it just feels right. That said, a few of the more frustrating things need fixing, because the difficulty is unfair and discouraging.
1. The third wooden box that moves up and down on a chain - wobbles WAY too easily and gives no time to react. When I wasn't being tossed off, I was jumping out onto spikes on the next box or hitting the bottom of the next box and falling.
2. No one is ever going to get that jump off of the second cart right on the first try, and many not on the second (or on the third if you're like me and your cart breaks while doing down the tracks). Either extend the jump window or put a spawn ahead if the cart makes it to the bottom. The ride is cool but a bit long for repeat visits.
3. Figuring out final boss just took doing the same thing 4 times was a little hard to figure out (no reward for each success).

Thanks Hoplyte, that is superb feedback.

i will try and tweak the third box for a bit more stability.

i'm not sure what to do with the jump at the end of the cart ride. i don't want to trigger a checkpoint that you haven't earned.
unless maybe i put in some point bubbles you miss out on or something.... hmm, i'll think about this one.

what do you mean about a reward for each success on the boss?
do you mean something as simple as some sound? maybe a frustrated grunt from the "monster" after each attempted drop?
or are you thinking of something else?

thanks again for the perfect feedback

Cyb0rg, I had an idea on the cart jump. I like it overall (the difficulty, intensity, keeping within the level style). I just think most people won't realize they need to jump, it still seems like holding on for dear life is the best plan. A couple options. The easiest, drastically pull camera back and to the right, highlighting the safety off the platform. Maybe also show danger below and give a warning sound when camera moves. Other options include the cart hitting wall and pausing for a second or landing safely on thr first jump, but immediately the ground groans then collapses. Having a save point clearly in sight would also encourage jumping.

As for the boss, I think having him sound clearly frustrated after each of the four rescues would help, maybe a speech bubble after the first rescue. It took me several attempts to save the girl, and the whole time I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing. I was constantly looking around for a switch or some secret.

Also, I noted the music.

Yes, my sig is from my level, but from the non-playable portion.
