i'm remaking cubeicide.
it was two levels i made that were top down shooters.
i went back and made different weapons do different damage and even added in a small health scale to the monsters.
sadly i've only redone the zombies because it's the easiest.

right now i'm trying to make a new level around the same back story from cubeicide: augmented. most importantly being the fact that your a test subject and every time you wake up your at the start of a new test.
because of this back story i like to thing it's okay to make different level layouts because it's all a random test.
right now i'm trying to make a small town in the middle of a forest with some special twists.

i cant figure out the best way to do this. i know to make every building enterable would be super cool but probably really bad gameplay wise. i know i might have to reuse buildings but is this a poor design choice?
how big should this town be?
what should i include in this town?

i want to keep this a survival but give the player little objectives.
i was thinking having a small shopping mall thats still in construction. the player goes there to find refugees who are nowhere to be found. the burgler alarms go off and things get spicy fast. the player would still get an amout of points for searching the mall but might not stay alive long enough to spend those points.

so far i've finished the starting area in the town.
it's not pretty and i reused buildings.

i'm not going to add in everything right away. i'm thinking of just finishing this area and then polish it. then i'll release and update with the hospital and other things. i was maube thinking a small harbor so i can add in crack head zombies that came off of drug ships in the harbor. it would be really fast with very low health but would be big in numbers. kinda like you see it and then see a nest of them.

i made another monster thats like a giant eyeball. it doesn't do rang attacks and if you get to close it's an insta death for you. i want to make it like a scout. it'll sense you and then act like a way point for all the other zombies to run to.

i tried making a health system for the enemies. so far after certain number of points the health increases but it stops around 500 points.
i wish there was a way to have the game calculate it indefinitely but i don't think there is.

this is also only going to be singleplayer just so it's easier to make.
i'm removing health regen for health packs/aid kits.
i still need to add some things and redo some things. i also need to figure out a good spawn system for such a big area.
i could do static spawns but i think the game only lets you put so many down with certain settings. maybe some sort of grid or crcle set up.

i did some things to the gun shop. nothings marked but it's to the north of were you start.


i'm not putting a scoreboard because this is mainly for testing only.


it might be a little hard to get some points in the beginning but just go south of were you start and spawn camp some zombies then go buy a gun and hunt down the eyeballs.
be careful they are really vicious and can i hit kill you and also cause hords to form.
