contact switches
Archive: 5 posts
don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this before but i'm on the mobile and it's too much hassle to search. It would be good if we had a switch that was like the mag switch and had a switch and a key. But instead of a radius the switch would be activated when the 2 objects that had the switch and key attached were in contact with each other. Also to take it one step further i would like a glue/stick option in it's tweak menu. So if this tweak option was turned on, when the 2 objects came in contact they would stick together at the point of contact keeping the switch constantly on. Also the different colours like the mag switches would be handy. Just think this would be a good tool for creating different puzzles | 2008-11-25 16:01:00 Author: dorien Posts: 2767 |
Should be possible. Mag Switch/key, very low radius, and set to fire an emitter to place an object which connects the two objects from the inside. See image below: | 2008-11-25 17:26:00 Author: accordion Posts: 76 |

See image below: This would be possible but only if they touched at that exact place Also I'm not trying to achieve this for anything. I just think the contact switch would be a good idea and tool and was just something I thought up | 2008-11-25 22:32:00 Author: dorien Posts: 2767 |
I believe the azure palace with it's unique shaped key and setting was pretty much a contact switch. If you did not put it precisely on, or the statue keys were not standing upright in position, it would not activate. I think all that was acheived by using the shapes that he had and very small activation circles. As for having them stick... a cheaper option is to have the key disolve when active. Disolvable material is grabbable and can be stickered up so it does not look like disolve stuff. The emitter option would work as well. You would just need good sensitivity and careful placement of the emmitted device. | 2008-11-26 03:31:00 Author: Elbee23 Posts: 1280 |

You could use the Cow Glitch to make whatever you want the dissolve material to look like. | 2008-11-26 03:33:00 Author: Unknown User |
