LBPC Mafia - Round VIII-2 (IT'S OVER! CIVILIANS WIN!)

| See what I did with that title there? *Subliminal FFX-2 reference.* Anyhoo, the old host is dead, the whole city is dead, and... well, everybody is dead. So yeah... RESURRECTION! :kz: Rules To play, you need to sign up. To sign up, just comment here saying you want to play. After I get a decent amount of players, I will PM every one of you your special roles. You are NOT allowed to tell anyone your role . It's a secret between you and me. After I assign everyone their roles, I will then announce the start of the game. There are two factions; the Mafia and Civilians. The game proceeds in turns. Each night, while the civilians sleep, the dreaded mafia privately decides on which civilian to assassinate. They will do this through PM's. When they decide, they will PM me. Each day, the terrified mob of civilians accuse people of being in the mafia and execute someone. Everyone- including the mafia, will have to vote on who to execute each day. The person with the most votes, dies. Civilians may NOT PM each other or anyone in the game. All discussion about the game should remain in this thread only. If the civilians manage to kill off all of the mafia members, they win the game. But, if the mafia outnumbers the civilians, they lose and the mafia wins. The game is largely about denouncing people as mafia members, and eloquently proclaiming your innocence. There's no real way to know who's in the mafia and who isn't. "Look at those shifty eyes! She's obviously in the mafia!" and "I've never trusted that guy," are both perfectly valid reasons to accuse someone. The sheer injustice of it all is part of the fun. ROLES Mafia Faction Mafioso- Is a member of the mafia. Every night, all the members of the Mafia will come together and PM each other to decide which Civilian to kill. Civilian Faction Sheriff- Has the ability to detect the role of any player. Every night, the Sheriff will PM me about a particular player's role and I will tell them. However, since no one can reveal their roles, the Sheriff will have to convince everyone else of what they know through trust. Cop- Same as the Sheriff, but instead of knowing particular roles, they will only have the ability to know whether a player is a mafioso or a civilian. Serial Killer- A very powerful role. The Serial Killer may kill anyone during the night, but can only do this twice in the whole game. But, he/she can't kill two people in one night. Doctor- Can protect one player from any night attacks. They will PM me each night of the player of their choice. Extra Roles- There are some roles I will not put on this list. You'll have to find out during game play  .Civilians- All remaining players will be regular civilians with no additional abilities. They will vote each day, but that's about it. I want at least 24 or so players. 1/4 of them will be the mafia, and the rest will be civilians. TURNS The game is supposed to start at night, but I want all platers to at least have one chance to play, so we'll start during the day. (Keep in mind, Day and Night have nothing to do with day and night in real life. It's just the name of a turn.) During the day, all players will vote on who to kill; even the mafia members. After all the votes come in, I will provide a short narrative of the death (I suck at story telling XD), and then night starts. During the night, no one is permitted to post about anything game-related. All game-related discussion should take place during the day. After I receive all of the PM's from the Mafia and the special civilian roles, I will provide another short narrative of what took place at night, and then the day starts once again. As I said earlier, this keeps going until all of the Mafia are dead, or when the Mafia outnumber the Civilians. Reminders- Please do not reveal your role to anyone else, or discuss the game anywhere else. I want to avoid cheating. The Mafia may PM other Mafia members whenever they wish, but Civilians cannot. Also, remember: No game-related posts during a night time turn. You're still allowed to talk to each other, but it cannot be about the game itself. Just a quick reminder to everybody, the roles have been "tampered" a bit to adjust to our new "reincarnation" of this game.  New Roles! Witness - A player who knows the identity of a Mafioso. The player must try to convince the Civilians about voting the Mafioso off without giving away their role. If they give away their role, then the Witness will more than likely be killed by the Mafiosos, if not by the Host. ??? - This one's a mystery. It'll be revealed later. But for right now, all I can tell you is that someone will probably have a blast controlling this trump card! Modified Roles Detective - Originally the Sheriff, but rather than just blindly PM'ing me who's a Mafioso or not, the Detective will PM me a player every night. From there, I'll reveal if they're innocent or not, with no roles being identified. Removed Roles Spy - Wasn't useful to be honest. It was basically a "Win/Win" card for the player. | It's everybody's favorite time again! That's right: the Mafia's traditional voting count! B.U.N.S. Resurrection! - Part 1: History for the Noobs, Voting Counts for the Veterans, and Etc. What is B.U.N.S. you say? Well, B.U.N.S. (also known as BUNS, buns, vote count, and other various forms of the name) was originally designed by me *ego* to count all the votes after everybody was too lazy to do it themselves we got lost on the voting during the first round. The acronym, which was part of a lager title, stood for "Burns, Underwater, Nails, or Snipers". At first glance, the title would make no sense. But add it with the rest of the original title, it would stand for "Our Next Victim Who Will Be Killed By: Burns, Underwater, Nails, or Snipers (B.U.N.S. for Short)". Due to the incredibly ridiculous and long name, the name B.U.N.S. was taken for short and simple purposes. However, over time the acronym began becoming a Mafia tradition. While the title and vote count does come with episodes (like the one above), there is no official episode count. This was due to many incorrect episode numberings and other people using B.U.N.S. as their voting count technique. The official "B.U.N.S. Reporter" (the title given to the player who accepts the responsibility of counting votes) is nobody, but rather anybody who volunteers for the job on any round. It is, however, better if the host became the B.U.N.S. Reporter, for he/she monitors the game. There. I just wanted to get rid of any future questions regarding to this. Nothing big. I've just been playing Killzone 2, trying to learn Kanji, and been behind the scenes, investigating the way people have been posting in here, tbh. Cyber DID say one of us had a role that they'd have a lot of fun with... ... and to be quite frank, I once did have the idea of running a Mafia game where no one was mafia and that the host (i.e. me) was just trying to screw everyone over... but I also had the idea of having a series of clues that would lead one player to potentially be able to figure it out but the logistics of such a thing was too insane... But still, the point is I once had an idea to do something like this. And he did say someone had a new role that someone would like... As such...
