How Do You SILENTLY Dispose of Sackbots?
Archive: 12 posts
Like the title says, I need a way to destroy sackbots without them making a sound, but every time I try with a destroyer, there's that annoying *BREAK* sound... I'm not talking about a stealth assassination plan. Is there any way around that sound, without turning down the volume in the Tools Bag? I searched, but found nothing. First one to answer correctly is my new best friend! Thanks. | 2011-03-08 22:11:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |
This method is a little tricky, but I suppose you could teleport them away using auto entry controllinators. | 2011-03-08 22:29:00 Author: Unknown User |
This method is a little tricky, but I suppose you could teleport them away using auto entry controllinators. What about invisible controllinators? | 2011-03-08 22:30:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
You could us a destroyer with the "Dissapear" option, rather than the "Break appart" option. If not, simply try different destruction methods, some are more subtle and quiet than others. Hope that helps! (Also, remember to test it out in play mode, as sometimes, breaking sounds for some things may be heard in create more, but don't occur or can't be heard on play mode.) | 2011-03-08 22:39:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
try this what ever triggers the destroy sequence of the sackbot should also trigger an audio tweaker to set sound fx off. this will effectively eliminate the sound then you can have something else immediately afterwards trigger another audio tweaker to default settings. You might also be able to try a material tweaker I believe it has a physics sounds option that is teakable. | 2011-03-08 23:21:00 Author: Unknown User |
I think there is also a sound in the LBP1 music sound section, where if you set it to a certain pitch, you cannot hear it and it blanks out other sounds. Look for it, and ask here, then try it. | 2011-03-08 23:38:00 Author: Cronos Dage Posts: 396 |
I think there is also a sound in the LBP1 music sound section, where if you set it to a certain pitch, you cannot hear it and it blanks out other sounds. That's right, it's the "e-drum hi-hat" sound with the sound modifier shifted 4 notches to the right. It's a great way to silence destruction and impact noises. I used it all the time back in LBP1. | 2011-03-09 00:55:00 Author: Blue Helmet Posts: 306 |
Try a material tweaker on him with the physics sounds turned off. Or I've also put a sound effect on set to go off when destroyed with the volume turned all the way down. | 2011-03-09 01:05:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Sorry for kinda bumping this, and for not replying earlier. This is pretty much the first time I've had access to my computer since yesterday. Anyway, I didn't even think of the teleporting controllinators, but I already found a solution. I just ended up demitting them, like in the good ol' days. I had the destroyer set to disappear, and it just made that really annoying *BREAK* sound that every creator hates. (Well, less so now that we have indestructible tweaks, but...) I didn't check to see if it made that noise in play mode, because it was for a group project, and I didn't really want to bug the host to switch to play mode. I tried the E-Drum thing, but it still made that break sound anyway. And I tried the material tweaker. Thanks anyway, I got it figured out... Kinda. | 2011-03-10 02:18:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |
I was freaking out about the same sound, but it doesn't actually play in play mode. It's just a note to the creator "Oh hey something just got destroyed!" | 2011-03-10 02:25:00 Author: Brian_Istenes Posts: 151 |
Try a material tweaker on him with the physics sounds turned off. I recall that material tweakers on sackbots only allow you to modify the Grabability setting and unfortunately nothing else. Another solution might be to give them a sudden, ridiculously fast mover that will launch them outside the view area. To the player it will appear as if they vanished. | 2011-03-10 02:42:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |
this is very easily solved and i promise that this works 100%. set the destruction effect to fade. this will stop the sound occurring. | 2011-03-10 11:57:00 Author: Unknown User |
