http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v326/SeekingTruth86/3-1.jpgYou may have boiled Dr. Voodoo in his own brew, but he won't be defeated that easily! Dodge his deadly traps as you platform your way through the haunted bayou to Doctor Voodoo's final resting place!
Heyo my LBPC buds!

I present to you "Livin la Voodoo Loca," a sequel of sorts to Dr. Voodoo's Boppin' Brew (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=40292-Dr.-Voodoo-s-Boppin-Brew). I don't want to spoil anything, but I do recommend you give Doctor Voodoo's Boppin' Brew (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=40292-Dr.-Voodoo-s-Boppin-Brew) a quick play before jumping into this full-on platforming adventure!

My fuzzy screenshots mixed with valmassoi's awesome screenshots! Thanks valmassoi! <3

Hey man. Mmmm, where to start! I could start on the nice visuals or even the actual gameplay, maybe the great stickerwork, but it would all be the same result...AWESOME. Mate, that is a quality level. Great story, lovely bubble combos, nice little mission type thing at the end. All the people who have left the PSP side of LBP because its drying up, then they are missing out big time. Theres still some quality out there, what with this new level, VJs new one, Kaijus last one and nysudyrgh banging some levels out, to name a few, I think theres still life in her yet. You have a quality set of levels under your belt mate. Looking forward to the next installment, even though Im not a lover of boss levels on games, I cant wait. Cant really say much else pal because theres nothing wrong with it. Awesome pal, needs spotlighting now!!!
Got a new level out pal, Reds Dead, Detention! if you want to check it out, not really up to your standards, no worries if ya busy though dude!

Wow, even though the screenshots are fuzzy, this looks great! Enjoying the LBBoffin sticker for boppin brew? I really enjoyed that level and am glad there's now a sequel. I'll be sure to play this when I get some time.2011-03-10 00:51:00

Wow, this level was really good. Best level I've played in awhile. And I'm assuming the titles from that song that's like "livin la vida loca" I think, in case you were wondering if any1 got it.

I really liked the whole atmosphere you created, from the dialogue to the materials to the stickers. I really liked the bone/skull pattern in the background towards the end. Was that a sticker from a DLC pack or did you combine stickers to make it?

The story was really cool; I didn't know you were gonna continue the boppin' brew level but it worked really well.

Just things to check out:
-There were times where it felt like too much was going on visually and physically; I know you want detail, but at some points there was lag and sometimes the environment was overwhelming. Like that first dock platforming section; it just felt like every piece had to fall or be wobbly.
-Early on, there's a camera angle that zooms out a little and tilts to look up and to the right. This revealed a section of blue sky above the background, which although not a huge deal, kind of ruined the atmosphere for a second.
-I liked most of the obstacles. While I liked the concept of the weight balance for the skulls part, actually retrieving the skulls bothered me quite a bit. It felt repetitive, claustrophobic, and the more I got frustrated with it, the more I tried to rush it only to be killed by the gas. I saw the little flame sticker to know where the gas was gonna come, but when was a whole different story.

Well I can't think of anything else right now because I played it yesterday but anyways, great level, 5 stars.

EDIT: You know what, I just played it again and the skull part and the dock part weren't that bad actually. The skull part just caught me off guard the first time and I tried to rush it, and I didn't notice the green swinging vines on the dock part.

2 new things:

- You can get out of the level right in the beginning by jumping behind the tree from the little hill. I took a nice visit to your invisible material corner

-If you grab the skull in the hut and swing, you can really see the background a lot. If you ever republish, build up the background layer a bit more.

Sorry it took to so long for me to get back here, my RL is going all nuts again and haven't had time for proper replies.

@Butter-Kicker: Thanks for the play and the feedback man! I love that feedback style =D Writing the dialogue for the level was definitely one of the funnest part of putting this together, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

@JetArtois: Thanks for the in depth feedback Jet! Your words are super encouraging. I also think the PSP's got some life in it yet! I hope I can make the boss fun enough to stand on its own. And I checked your Reds dead, Detention level- it was great! I think I left ya feedback already but figured I'd mention it here and encourage peeps to check it out =)

@metsfan1025: Wow! Thanks for taking the time to leave such great feedback man, and then coming back to report bugs! You are correct, the title is a play on that song title. =) I'm glad you liked the atmosphere, I really liked how Boppin' Brew looked and have wanted to do a platformer there ever since I made it. The skull pattern was just a heck of a lot of basic skull stickers on glass, and the bone background was a bunch of 'bone tool' stickers... that sticker is from the caveman DLC I think.

Sorry about the lag in some spots. Know that before optimization the lag was unbearable! I just couldn't stop decorating until I liked it XD As for the camera and the grab skull... I honestly can't believe I let that one slip T_T I'd known about it pretty early on and told myself to fix it- a simple fix- but kinda forgot about it and didn't notice since me and my testers grabbed the skull and dropped immediately to below the hut. It irks me quite a bit since it takes the player's mindset out of the swamp for a second T_T And you found my invisi-corner! Nooooo! Haha I knew I should have made that wall a little higher, but once I finished that part I would just grab the bubbles and continue on. I doubt I'll republish but I will test my next creations until my fingers bleed. Thanks so much for the detailed reports! =)

I know how you felt about the skull part at first! There were times when I testing the level and I would die once, then try to rush it faster each time and just die more lol. Glad you had a change of heart about it, the 'trick' to that part is definitely taking it slow. As for the claustrophobia... I was going for that. >=) Mwahahaha!

Thanks again for taking the time to write such extensive feedback metsfan!

@nysudyrgh: Yay! Thanks for the endorsement bud, I'm glad you liked it! And grats on beating Peton's score! Beware, though... he may not let that stand. =) In this level I really tried to balance the bubble combos. There are a few gnarly ones you can get if you're lucky (and a ninja), but nothing so crazy that only a two or three people will ever get them.

@Everyone else: Thanks for dropping by, I look forward to hearing what y'all think!

And btw if you want me to check out a level of yours just mention which one!

I played this through a while ago, great stuff!! No surprise you made another amazing level. The visuals were stunning! So much detail 0_o

I really liked the theme of the level, it's spooky and the dialogue makes it all the better. The gameplay is great! I really liked the part with the jetpack, it was quite clever

Obviously a :star::star::star::star::star: & <3 from me. Keep up the great work!

This was a nice, solid level. Good platforming, fun use of the jetpack powerup, and a good followup to Boppin' Brew. I'm a little disappointed that it just sort of ends. Looking forward to the final battle.2011-04-13 22:19:00
