Well worth the wait,
for spotlight 58!

Guess its going to rough on you for awhile spotlight team with the flood of levels till things cool down (at least till summer) You thought of trying to get more members to the spotlight crew? (not asking to be in the crew, just asking)

This is a great spotlight, thanks guys i'm on my way to play some of those psp levels since i got Little Big Planet on PSP, and there were some great LBP2 levels there but what happened to the LBP1. Some great levels there but i'm thinking that maybe a few levels got skipped in the overload of LBP2. Like i mean Vectoids, or Lockstitch's new level, and ToykoyMegalplex's awesome start to a series he got bored on (i'm awesome at listing levels as you can see). Anyway you got some great levels there thanks spotlight crew and great levels to those who got spotlighted!2011-03-07 06:54:00

Wow, must be a change going from the slow trickle of levels in the days leading up to LBP2 to the flood of levels now, I must commend the spotlight team for keeping up with it, I'm sure many sleepless nights went into playing them all. Big congrats to all who were spotlighted, too bad Holguin didn't get his level out in time for this week.2011-03-07 07:10:00

Congrats all spotlighted creators! You guys have really put us through our paces over the last few weeks, that's for sure. Hopefully we'll be back to a bi-monthly publishing schedule now, even if we aren't completely caught up on all the level's we've got to sift through. 2011-03-07 07:31:00

EDIT: i just realized that on the psp spotlight the levels are only from less than two weeks after episode 57, what happened to the others like 'Mar Y Tierra' and 'red rampage'? i think they both definitely deserve a spotlight (as well as other levels too).
"So if you published your level after [B]Friday, Jan 28th[/B ], fear not! It is still waiting to be played!"

Well... This one has been a tough one to make. We lost a lot of valuable crew members this time around.

I'd like to say thanks to all of the newly retired members for helping us get our start (Keldur, Rhyas, and I). We were the newbies for a while there.

Good spotlight, but it seems so much longer than four - six weeks.

Added all spotlights to my queue, some I've played already but all will receive in-game feedback in time Thanks to the spotlight crew as usual, great job!

Surprised that Johnee's 'Blast Radius' hasn't been spotlighted... or did I miss it?

If only you could queue PSP levels... I just don't have the heart to bother with it any more. Between the crashing and insane loading times... yeh u get the picture.

Thanks for the spotlight!

It's great that these are back on track. Although it's a bit of a shame only Duffluc and Holguin posted their comments, I always like reading multiple opinions from the spotlight crew. Ah well. I assume you've split them up depending on date published? Surely poor Duffluc isn't doing all the hard work?

Actually, come to think of it, I have no idea who is in the spotlight crew. Is there a list of you all somewhere?

Isn't the point of Community Spotlights to get levels noticed that haven't necessarily been on Cool Levels?
These are good, but I feel like I've played all of them because they were on trending levels or cool levels for a significant amount of time.

These are good, but I feel like I've played all of them because they were on trending levels or cool levels for a significant amount of time.

I always thought the point was to showcase the best levels by the LBPC community, regardless of how popular they already were. That's like automatically excluding a film from receieving any Oscar nominations if it already won a load of Baftas. If it deserves it then it deserves it.

No. I'e been here since it started and for 2 years plus it's always been to cosign & recommend the best recently published levels by members of the LBPC community that were posted in the Level Showcase forum. Doesn't matter whether they're steve_big_guns or a brand new member who's only got 1 level and 0 plays. A 5 star, triple A, must-play level is a 5 star, triple A, must-play level no matter who published it, or how many plays it has.

These are good, but I feel like I've played all of them because they were on trending levels or cool levels for a significant amount of time.

Certainly not mine. I didn't even come close to cool pages for anything in the last 2 months. I published mine 3 days after LBP2 released and there was probably 10,000 levels published that day for me to compete with.

Well done spotlightcrew for getting through all the levels. Definatly worth the wait. Only lbp would have community members as dedicated as the spotlight crew. Also thanks for my semi spotlight for my guitar hero level it put a big smile on my face because of the quality levels that were unlucky enough to not get a spotlight. 2011-03-07 17:36:00

Oh no! This definitely isn't the case. It's true I was the only one able to get comments up this episode but rest assured, but the entire team was hard at work playing all the levels. In fact, if anything I don't play as many of the levels as I should...

Also, with all the changes to staff over the past weeks it has been hard to keep track of whose still in it. We're going to make an official announcement next episode for our new team members.

Awesome! Already seen a bunch of these, but a replay is warranted! Thanks to the spotlight crew! I have a question; If you published a level ON Jan. 28th, where does it fall? In the intro you address levels before and after the 28th, but not on the 28th. Have they been played and considered, or are they still in the queue? 2011-03-07 18:08:00

Woah, the power of the Spotlight! I just checked the top ten trending levels on lbp.me and six of then are on the Spotlight List. It's so hard for creators to get plays at the moment that it's nice to see something like this genuinely helping.

An extra big thanks to the Spotlight crew for all their hard work. You guys really are heroes.

Congratulations to the creators featured. There are some very cool levels on the list (I'm so pleased Mysterious Mines and Saviour Machine made the list!) and I'm looking forward to trying the one I haven't checked out yet.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to create an acount like "LBC_crew" and publish a level with a link to all the spotlighted levels?
That would give some of this levels a push to get some plays.

taking the spotlight to LBP2 itself? I like it...every episode could be a level link and you guys could STILL review them here and have the reviews here aswell...or even make reviews next to the link VIA grabbable material or something

Keldur was working on a level link vault, and ideas for an episodic one that would be merged into the vault when expired, in the beta... but obviously it was all lost with the beta stuff (could bring over bugged crap, but I say no). Not sure what ever happened to the idea, and I haven't seen Keldur on LBP2 in awhile.2011-03-15 10:59:00

I think it would be marvelous if someone did it...hell i have some ideas on its appearance:

1. some company building
2. a simulator with each link being in some tiny room that has a "theme" to it
3. a cool computer that when you jump into the controllinator you scroll through the levels with a screenshot or two of the game to be played
4. the creator's sackperson next to some cool object housing the level link

i could go on and on but yeah lol you get the picture

Yeah, a nice presentation would be cool, and it wouldn't be hard to do because there's no game play needed. And the same pre-made level structure could be used for every spotlight. Just have to change links, descriptions, screenshots...

sounds like you volunteer lol

tbh someone with your reputation building the spotlight area where the level links be present would be the best thing ever...and hell if this goes well maybe even make the OTHER spotlights into LBP2 levels with their own PSN account aswell?

LBPC is expanding...and jumping into the game itself helps LBPC define itself as THE BEST LBP FANSITE

I'd be glad to be involved in this, but my English is not spectacular, and though I have plenty of time at the moment, I'll be "missing" from May to October for work.
Some other creators would have to get in this... maybe Jwwphotos? and we need the opinion of the Spotlight crew. Any suggestion?

well poms like you said it could be a signature area and such...as for october someone could just copy your design and make a "halloween" theme or something

you know we have unlimited choices with LBP2 and especially now with the 3D camera

at any rate we have vast choices in how to make this happen and keep it coming at a steady rate....plus i think its better then the internet search thingy they have....since i barely use that it would be nice to just pop in LBP2 and just go into levels from there.

IIRC when I was playing around with Level Links it let me also choose levels in my hearted list...so if this is still the case then the Spotlight PSN account would just have to Heart the levels they're going to spotlight and use the level links to link the hearted level....which also makes a great ALTERNATIVE to people who dont want to play the level they can simply mow down your list of hearted levels for all the spotlight levels too....everyone wins 2011-03-15 23:38:00

You can also create links without hearting the levels. Just have to play them once and you can create the link from the "recently played" page.
Anyway, nothing wrong on hearting the spotlighted levels.
I wouldn't complicate this a lot. Just a clean/nice looking menu were you choose the level to play.
@Shadowcrazy, you seem to have some good ideas about this. I vote for you to do it

lol I don't build levels good sir...I don't have the patience to work on a blank canvas much less all that space in LBP....thats why I only have 1 level with barely anything on it....I have great ideas....I can make games in LBP2 that could rival those set by some of our brightest minds in LBP2....only problem is i cant build them....but if someone ever decides they want to make the games i create...you'd see how many hearts id be getting

but yeah lol i suck at building...so id have to swing it back to you friend

Ok, some questions here:
- Is the spotlight team Ok with this?
- Who creates the LBPC account? and who publish it? Morgana25 maybe?

The making of the level is not a problem. I think I can make it very quick.
