New way to make 3D Materials & New Material White Metal

Archive: 24 posts

Get a pod out of your objects don't place it back out and go get a material you want and it'll be 3D and if you have multiple pods in different layers the more 3D it is. I just found this 20 min ago and figured I'd share it.

I made a new Material I call it White Metal( its not a twisted material or any glitched material, its a plain old NEW material) & it can be found at the end of this level (http://lbp.me/v/ye0fvq)

It looks like White matter but its metal, I made it the same way you wear Rare DLC Costumes, so people who know that glitch should know how to make this material.

Unbelievable so it's possible without having to go back into lbp1 to make 3d tools. That is briliant and you're awesome. Can you corner edit the material to?2011-03-05 18:31:00

Interesting method , congratulations on your find. However, do we still have to attach darkmatter pieces to the extra layer material generated through the use of this pod, in order for the overlapping 3d background objects not to break ?2011-03-05 18:58:00

Wait, are you saying that theres a way with normal 3D materials to get them to not break when overlapping?

Also, to edit the name of the thread, you just click "edit post" then click "advanced edit" on the bottom right and you can edit title.

Hey guys, sorry for not being objective with what I tried to say, but I will try to explain my point, hope to be able to:

I don't know if you guys remember, but the within method most of us learned to deal with the 3d Layer, we used to attach dark matter to the material objects we send to the foreground or background layers, so that they wouldn't break should they overlap each other, be it because they are on the same layer or because they are on the same layer.

I don't remember if we had to attach dark matter pieces to real objects, such as the Knife and MGS Searchlight, nor if I explained correctly this thing of the 3D material, it has been a long time since I used the 3D layer. Could anyone confirm this for please?

Anyways guys, if I didn't make myself clear about this overlapping and other stuff, you could read Teebonesy's Extra layer faq, where he mentions the overlapping and other stuffif I am not wrong. To make it easier for you, here is the link https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=18254-Layer-Glitch-FAQ-Get-the-most-out-of-your-custom-backgrounds-foregrounds#post323079

I get it now, but couldn't you just put a material tweaker and set it to indestructible? God LBP2 is awesome with stuff like that lol

Good idea I haven't thought on using the material tweaker for this, though I dunno if it would work in the extra layers? Anyways, this method of yours, you don't need to use the dark matter for the overlapping thing?

I didn't heard it damage anything by being on level, you don't need to leave it on the level either way But Pod crash console when you try to tweak it so this is only thing you need to watch out on

I haven't bothered to try to find out how to wear rare dlc after the patch 'cuz I just don't care that much, but I'd like to know more about how you made this "new" metal.

For those who don't know how to make/place the 'white metal', read this (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=48401-What-is-white-matter&p=794026&viewfull=1#post794026).
Great 'find'.

You...don't need to go to LBP1 to use 3D layer tools, they work just fine in LBP2, you know? xD

No, the normal method of making the extra layers is patched in LBP2.

Last time I tried using my layer tools, it... well... it didn't work xD
So I had to capture a whole new set of "pain in the backside" tools.

Speaking of a 3D tool, someone gave on to me on LBP1 and it was a "thing" with multiple parts (on each possible layer). If I wanted to put something into that layer, I just need to capture the corresponding part of the tool with that object, emit it anew and voila!
Now that tool doesn't work in LBP2 for me because I can't move it's pieces like in LBP1, it stays together no matter what I am doing. So this leads me to my question:

Is one of you having such tool but for LBP2 and can you spare it to me? (let me capture it)

tks all,

Get a pod out of your objects...

Presumably you have to collect the pod from a community level, but if you're going to do that, why not just collect a proper 3D layer tool like the one in Comph's level?

Go to place a block of any material from the Goodies Bag, but when you reach the screen which asks what shape you want, press X and O at the same time.

No, the normal method of making the extra layers is patched in LBP2.

Sure, but you can just use a pre-made layer tool imported from LBP1.

Now that tool doesn't work in LBP2 for me because I can't move it's pieces like in LBP1, it stays together no matter what I am doing.

You can probably fix the tool you have by using a method like the one in this post (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=51850-A-new-3D-layer-glitch-tool-created-in-LBP2&p=797175&viewfull=1#post797175).

Next time I see you on I'll pop in and give you mine Ranger. If I don't, and you see me on then just do the same.

Hey just a heads up. Instead of attaching dark matter to your extra layer (not 3d) objects you can just use an antigravity tweaker with 100% dampening. Also if it is in grid mode, you can move the stuff around without anything breaking.2011-03-08 02:51:00

I have an extra layer tool for LBP2, collectable in my level LBP2 in 3D. It's a modified version of comphermc's tool, works the same way.2011-03-28 02:56:00
