Here is a key tip for you, in order to keep your thermo from overheating.

One of the biggest mistakes that people make is placing too many different types of objects into their level. Each unique object, whether it be a barrel or a knife or a balloon or a doll's head, takes up a chunk of the thermometer when placed. However, placing duplicates of the same object uses no (or very little) additional thermometer space.

For example: If you place a flower, a barrel, a balloon and a crytal, it will use 4 thermo bits. Whereas if you place 4 flowers, it will only use 1 thermo bit.

Limit yourself to a smaller selection of objects and duplicate them across your level, rather than using a wide variety of different objects. This is made all the easier if you follow a set theme throughout your story.

Also make sure you dont make too complex shapes when drawing with material.

As an example, a circle will take up more thermo than a square because of the extra polygons needed. If you can cut down some of the corners on your objects it will make your level significantly lesser demanding on thermo.
