I posted the intro to a series I'm working on to LBP2 a while back, and so far I've had a great response. I'm currently halfway through the first level, and boy, I'm so much more ambitious than I ever was in LBP1 (I believe my magnum opus at that point was . . . err. . . let's not go there! ) My plan for this series is a parody on Fairytales, specifically the Fairytale Princesses popularised by Disney. The story starts out with a young wannabe called Printz, who meets an old lady in the street. She mistakenly thinks him to be Prince Charming, and abducts him, taking him to the Fairytale Dimensions. http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j398/Formerly/thehero.jpg What will follow is approximately five 'worlds' (which at this point in time are looking to be around two linked levels) based around each princess I'll be focusing on. It is up to Printz to rescue the Princesses and restore order to the Fairytale Dimensions. At this moment the series will run as a puzzler/platformer, with more emphasis on the puzzles and storyline than anything else, though I'm cooking up a few little ideas which may or may not come to fruition. Regarding the comedy aspect, well, I think it's funny, and that's all that I think really matters. As I say I've had good feedback so far but all I have out there right now is a movie. The first level is almost completely designed visually, with a need to introduce the logic aspects and get them ticking over. If she told us what stories, we would be able to think of what she was thinking. If that happens, then we won't be as impressed. After all, one of the best things (I'm hoping) is going to be the story. Hope this doesn't get too familiar with Shrek. That movie was an entire parody of fairy tails.

Thanks for the feedback guys, and indeed Cryo, it isn't classified as such but I'd rather keep the specific storyline close to my chest. I'm doing my best with the game mechanics to make these levels fun and interesting (one monkey-island-type puzzle is playing hell with my nerves at the moment!) but I believe the story is where most of the fun will lie. And no, no shrek. By Parody I suppose I mean more of an irreverant story than a direct parody of any one tale, but I'm hoping that things will be mostly original, with a few brief nods to pop culture etc. Time will tell, but I'm planning on using this project to really stretch my abilities a bit. Thanks again for the support, it's really spurring me on to keep at it tonight!

Well, it's been a while, so I thought I'd return and post a little update. This project has most certainly not been abandoned! I just took a little break from LBP for a little while to get some space. But over th epast few days I've made some real progress with this level, so much so that I'm very nearly done designing, and it's almost logic time (wooohooo!)
