Can I make my sackbots quiet??

Archive: 4 posts

I made a music level ("Look To The Future" .. an original song, for those who may like music levels).
Anyway, I put some Sackbots in there to dance around and give the player something interesting to look at while they're listening to the song. They're jumping around, dancing, and generally acting excited (typical enthusiastic fans). The problem is, sackbots make a loud "whooosh" noise whenever they jump, and they make a nonstop squeaky noise, regardless of what they're doing. Presumably MM thought this was a good idea. Presumably sackbots squeak because they're supposed to be robots, and robots are made of metal, so they squeak whenever they move ... or so my theory goes. But this symphony of squeakiness is very distracting when you're trying to listen to the music. Is there any way I can eliminate all noise from the sackbots?

I'm pretty sure that the squeaking noises accompany the Sackbot animation, so swapping the animation type to Sackboy should fix it. Good luck!2011-03-05 01:30:00

You can also turn off sfx while the dance is going on.2011-03-05 01:35:00

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Your answer was helpful. Changing the sackbot animation type to 'Sackboy' does indeed remove the squeaking noise, and I did not realize this, so thanks. It didn't fix the entire problem, since I was also wanting to stop to loud 'swooosh' noise the sackbots were making when they repeatedly jumped (in my case, these are enthusiastic fans in a music level, so I have them jumping a lot .. but that noise was distracting when listening to the song). Ultimately the next tip / post was the answer ... the level itself has a volume slider for "SFX" (Noises from special effects), and when I turned that down to 0 all the noise, except the music, magically stopped. That was perfect!

Thank you both for your helpful answers!

This answer was exactly what I needed! Thank you for replying!
