Completely invisible material

Archive: 9 posts

I have successfully created a completey invisible material, and no, its not small dark matter/rubber. It is a triangle of glass, and I cannot change the material nor can I put stickers or decorations on it. Unfourtunatly, invisible material cannot be photographed and as such I cant provide any pictures. The little outline that appears around an object when you select doesnt appear in pictures either. I will, however, tell you how to replicate it.
You must first get a big shape of any material, and that material must have a sharp edge(squares/triangles have sharp edges, ovals and circles do not). Also, it is desirable that the material is not rounded like dark matter or sponge. Once you have that, cut of just a tiny piece from one corner of the material, so that you have a miniscule triangle. Delete the rest of the big object, and rescale the little piece you just cut off, so that its as big as the last. Once again, cut of a corner, resize it, and do that about 4 times total. You should have a triangle with a glitched surface that is hard to move around, and will shake around in play mode. This material is very unstable; dont try editing its shape in any way, your game could crash(though its unlikely). Once you have that, place a TETHERED(not the new tetherless) jetpack next to the glitched triangle. Hold down R2, and, with X, select the jetpack first and the triangle second. Release R2 and just tap up on the right control stick. Something weird should happen, and the triangle will probably go somewhere where you cant see it. Both objects will get really small. Move the objects around a little until you see the triangle. Once you know you can grab it, release the objects, pick up the triangle, and it will be invisible. I hope I was clear, and good luck!

EDIT: I changed some info.

OR you could just get two materials out & two teherless jetpacks(save one jetpack for later)

Step 1. Hold down R2, and, with X, select the jetpack first and then both of the materials. Release R2 and hold up on the right analog stick until its as tiny as possible.

Step 2. Delete the jetpack you made tiny, and do the same thing as Step 1 with the second jetpack.

Step 3. Delete the jetpack, and make the materials big enough to see.

Step 4. Cut the materials into a square or whatever shape you want and it'll be invisible.

& it will be stable and perfectly safe to use unlike your method it seems.

you can put as many materials down as you want and do it, it just has to be more than one at a time.

However, mine can be scaled to any size you want it to be, and, it seems, I was unabvle to replicate your directions; it didnt work for me. Please make sure you know what your talking about before you post 2011-03-04 21:16:00

Your getting me mad man, 1st you don't get my twist tutorial, so I make a video and you write exactly what I do for a tutorial except you added release R2.

& Now I write a better and more stable way to make invisible materials and you say "Please make sure you know what your talking about before you post". I do know what i'm talking about its you that don't know how to follow simple directions. So here's another video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJ4AIu1zuT4)(no sound)

I'm going to my sister birthday party see ya later.

Well obviously my directions your directions werent clear at all because no one had a clue what you were trying to say... Mine are much more clear, and also in your post up there you didnt say I had to put a different material into the glitched one, so how could I possibly replicate a step you didnt tell me to do?2011-03-04 21:52:00

ATMLVE - So.. first you completely go off on dude telling him his twisting thing didn't work & he didn't know what he was talking about, then you USE his method to do this? I mean not trying to stir the pot, but srsly what is your problem? You should be thanking him. Thank you lve_msg!!2011-03-06 21:41:00

I have successfully created a completey invisible material...

This method (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=17759-Creating-Editable-Invisible-Material-In-Seconds) still works, and is probably a little easier.
