Sackbot Controls?

Archive: 4 posts

Hey, so I'm trying to make a controllable sackbot with a control set from a different game for a possible level. Specifically, the GTA IV controls (square to jump, x to run faster, etc.).

I set it up like this;
Controllinator on a piece of holo with follower - Transmitter (disabled popit controls)
Controllinator on sackbot - Reciever (same color, tag, etc. as Transmitter, and overrides sackbot)
Tag on sackbot - same color as follower
Advanced mover (somewhat faster than normal sackbot speed)

So, I hooked up the square on the transmitting controllinator to the x on the reciever to make it jump. That works.

I hooked up x on the Transmitter to the on/off input of the Advanced Mover, and the left/right of the left stick on the Transmitter to the left/right input. Therefore, when you hold down x, the Sackbot will move faster. It works as I want it to, except for one problem. The Sackbot still jumps when I press x.

How do I make it so that the Sackbot only jumps when I press square?

None of the tutorials I've found on here help.

Because it's receiving the raw wireless signal and is set to override sackbot. If you're going to manually override the buttons of a controllinator, disable remote control altogether. That should fix it.2011-03-04 19:15:00

There's a neat tutorial by Comphermc explaining how to do this actually.

It's got a lot of other great stuff in there too.

...Oh, wow. Oh, WOW. I can't believe I didn't think of that. It works perfectly now. Thanks, man.

Er, I have another question.

I'm trying to make aiming powerups (Creatinator and Paintinator specifically) controlled by holding down L2 and aiming with the right stick. Pretty much how you do it normally, but you have to hold down L2.

What I did was I attached L2 and left/right to an AND gate, and L2 and up/down to another AND gate, and then attached the AND gates to the appropriate inputs. When I do that, I have to hold the right stick in the position I want the powerup, and it goes back to its default position when I let go of the right stick.

How do I make it so that when I let go of the right stick, the powerups stay aimed in the same position like it does when you normally use them?
